Guest guest
I'm a nightowl by nature anyway. I have chronic insomnia. Doesn't take much to keep me up at night. For those of you that are hurting I recommend a hot tub or shower. I have a hot tub; I also have a heated mattress pad. Of course I have pain meds as well. Sometimes nothing works. We just do what we can to get by. Please excuse my sillyness and sarcasm... it's just my way. I joke around a lot. Guest guest
Ok, I am still up, but I am always up this late. Bedtime seems to be between 1:30 and 2am most nights. But actually, if I stay on this schedule and my body stays on eastern time when we moved back to the midwest in July, I might come close to getting a full night's sleep! But it's quite now and I took my nap earlier in the late afternoon/early evening. DH spent much of the day moving things from the house to the garage today so he will have everything ready for the guys who are to come help load the UHaul Truck on Wednesday for the first load we are taking out. Actually, it was better when I was not in his way --- both of our horoscopes said to watch out for simple things to trigger disagreements, so I did take it down a notch or so!! And I am so happy, he is going to see if one of his co-workers will take the very large loom that someone gave him several years ago! I never understood why he accepted all of those things (but, perhaps on the other hand I do! Since we are always ggetting things shipped to us from his mother, I don't think he has ever learned to say " No, thank you! " Now, I need to check and see who might have good buys on twin size sheets! We have two air mattresses so we have a place to sleep for those nights we are in Illinois next week! At least this house is more and more empty. Although, when we get back here a week from today (Sunday), I am going to have to gather all of my clothes, sort things and get rid of what I no longer wear. It will also help me see what I have and perhaps stop me from buying duplicates. I am in very little pain, although on Thursday, I thought there was something going on with my back!!! And I have also decided, that after we move, I am going to finally gather somethings that belonged to my brother, go to his grave, lift the sod and take another bag of soil so that I can make a symbolic gesture honoring my mother's wish that he be move to the grave site where she and our father's ashes are buried. Perhaps I will put copies of pictures of my sisters and I, and all of my nieces and nephews! Mother would have loved her great granddaughters so much and my father would have enjoyed the imaginations of the two older ones and the memory of the youngest! To all of you who are having trouble sleeping, I hope you are able to soon! This lack of sleep is really something that is another evil part of the beast!!!! And to all of you who will be celebrating Mother's Day tomorrow, I hope you have a good one, where you be a mother or are spending it with your own. I sent my mother-in-law roses and also a dozen to my only surviving aunt. I sent the three aunts flowers last year as I found that the company I use all the time had a big sale right after Mother's day and they all enjoyed them so much! Aunt Maxine is really having a hard time --- her husband is very sick and in the hospital and her daughter is really getting more and more ill from all of the things that can happen to someone who was diganosed with juvenille diabetes 40 years ago!!! But I do give her credit for struggling so long to achieve a Ph.D. in Music Theory despite the illnesses she has battled. Her dad said he cried the day she got that! And to add to that, Aunt Max is still, I know in shock, from the deaths of her two only surviving siblings in less than 4 months! --- Fibromyalgia_Support_Group , " magicaldream411 " wrote: > > I am up, and hurting just a lil bit more than normal. > Hope the new pain med will just knock me out in a few. > Hugs~ > > > > > > > > > -- In Fibromyalgia_Support_Group , Angie > wrote: > > > > Lori, > > Well I was going to say what can we do to entertain you.... but you > are supposed to be getting some rest... so we probably should be > boring you.... Guest guest
, I guess I missed part of your moving but I did want to make a slight suggestion about you on an air mattress for a while. With fibro and all - you might want to take a warm sleeping bag to put under you. The air mattress tends to get cold. It's just like the air cools off at night - the air mattress will too and a cold mattress doesn't do fibro too well. Just a suggestion. Sounds like you have a mountain of work ahead of you. You need all the rest you can steal. Maybe when you get one of those rooms empty you can go lie down in it periodically to get a nap. OK so here we are. It's not even that late yet so we got a lot of hours ahead of us probably... Guest guest
Silliness is great. Is how I deal with the complaining I do. Most look at me with pity, some just don't understand..so, I often times cut up about the " beast within " . I have taken a hot bath already. No such luck at it easing things off. I bet that hot tub feels good --whoa, what I wouldn't give to have one. Maybe, I should start saving.. > > I'm a nightowl by nature anyway. I have chronic insomnia. Guest guest
Angie, that's a very good suggestion! You reminded me of how cold I felt when I slept on air mattresses at my sister-in-laws! Anyway, my husband is retiring at the end of July and we bought a house in the midwest in early January. And as this is, hopefully, our last move, we are doing the move ourselves. Well, I guess I should said DH is as he has packed almost everything, with a few editioral comments by your's truly! And we won't be doing any unpacking until we take the last load out the first part of July! I am driving out sometime after Memorial Day so that I can begin seeing my former shrink! One problem we were having problems solving was how to get both vehicles to Illinois, and it suddenly hit me in the last two weeks, that I can take the train. And it will certainly cost less than the gas to drive back! And I get to spend a few hours in one of my favorite cities, Chicago, as I have a 4 hour layover there. I do hope I find the seats on the train as comfortable as they look! Especially as the train leaves Chicago at 7pm and arrives in Pittsburgh at 5:30am! But I have this big cloud hanging over me as I do wonder if this house will sell quickly and if we will make some profit when we sell it!! Would would have thought the market would be the way it is now, when we bought the house back in 1999??? > > > Debra, go get some rest for all of us... sweet dreams!!! > > > > > > Angie Harley Mama Double-D > > > Carson City, NV; Single, five children (3 at home), 2 dogs, 4 > cats, > > snow skiing, camping, Harley Rider, Lone Wolf, Blue Thong > Society/High > > Sierra Thong Snappers member, LFA Advocate, independent, > opinionated, > > outspoken, and open minded. > > > > > > " It's always something. Guest guest
I hear ya, I moved to Nevada in August. First 2-3 weeks I spent in an RV park in my parents RV. Then we moved into our rental without our furniture yet. I slept on an air mattress. Who the heck would have thought we would have been so cold in August/Sept in Nevada!!! It's desert for heavens sake! But it cools down 40 degrees at night. The air in that mattress cools right with the air in the room. It was in my pre-Fibro days but I still woke up stiff and sore. It does sound like an exciting move and I do remember talking to you about it before... just got to jar the rust loose sometimes..
