Guest guest
Hi Kristi - I would hope you know that none of us could possibly treat you any differently because you have CP. I don't know a lot about it, but I picture the kids who have trouble walking and use walkers and wheelchairs. It sounds like you've been blessed with a milder case. So, share with us whenever you need to. Take care. Jeanne in WI Marti, It's only been within recent months that I have started to talk more about the CP (Cerebral Palsy). I haven't said much about the CP over the years because of being afraid of what others might think but I'm starting to get better about talking about this issue. But yes, sometimes it creates problems but it's mild compared to others I know about that I know have it. I hope you are doing ok too hon. Guest guest
Hi Jeanne, Yes, I know that none of you all here in the group would treat me any differently because of the CP. And I thank you for that. And yes, I think of the kids who are having more issues than I do when it comes to the issue of CP. I appreciate all of you more than you know although I don't post a whole lot and stick in the background to try and help keep the group running smoothly. There's a really good book out about a girl who has CP. It's called Wren (actually there's another one about her that was entitled in addition to this one) that tells a little bit about what it's like to have CP. One of the things she had I should have had as a kid but the doctors told my mom to leave alone which they shouldn't have done. My Podiatrist has been playing connect the dots by filling in many of the gaps that should have been filled nearly 30 years ago when it comes to the doctors that took care of me. But as the expression says better late than never. Any way, the books I just mentioned are written by Marie Killilea. Guest guest
Kristi, I LOVED those books when I was a kid, even though I didn't have CP. I admired her family's determination to give her as normal a life as possible so she grew up pushing herself to achieve what she aspired to achieve! It made enough of an impression to me that I have adopted a set of special needs twins (with my DH of course) and am that pushy, advocating mom!
