Hi everyone - and Happy Mother's Day to all the moms, aunts, sisters, whoever!

Even if you are just a mom to a pet - you are a mom :)

I have a feeling I may not be able to move tomorrow! Or later on today -

goodness it's 2:19 and I'm still up. Got up this morning and went to the bank

and then to Costco. I hate going to Costco so I try not to go too often and get

everything at one time. Of course this then necessitates my having to lug

everything into the house! So I did that and decided to take a nap, 4 hours

later it's 4:00 pm and it's almost dinner time. Mind you I've had nothing since

8:00 a.m. - not so good for a diabetic and I know that.

So I decide to go to Target because I wanted a new coffee pot. Off I go and on

the way back I did stop at Carl's Jr. for a burger. Get home, finish dinner and

then I start....

My fridge badly needed cleaning. So I took everything out and about a week ago

I notice that one of my creamers (I get the big carton) had a leak in the seam

in the bottom! What a mess. So I cleaned that up but hadn't realized there was

another one in the back of my fridge leaking all over the place. It was all over

the glass and had gone down the back into my crispers :( So it took me a good

hour and a half to get that all clean and back together. Then I went to work on

the rest of the kitchen. I scrubbed all the counter tops down put everything

away, unloaded the dishwasher and it took me about 2 hours to do that. In

between I'm doing laundry, folding, etc.

Then I tackle my dinning room table that always becomes the catch all for

books, mail, etc. I just finished running an empty load with bleach through my

dishwasher (the repair guy told me it's good to do that now and then, it gets

all the minerals off the coils and cleans the inside) and it looks so nice! I

think it's time for bed - I hope I can move in the morning. I want to get up and

go see Iron Man.

No plans for Mother's Day - they are going to her mom's......

'nuff said I guess! LOL

hugs

, , - You can't overdo like this. I bet you are in agony today.

That's no way to spend Mother's Day. That fridge mess would have done me in.

How do you get enough energy to do stuff?

Jeanne,

I don't know if thinks the way I do but I can answer that from

my corner of the world. When you live alone or just you and a kid (no

other adults in the house) sometimes you just reach a point where the

frustration/anxiety caused by something you know NEEDS to be done

outweighs your body telling you it is tired/hurting.

One thing I have started when it comes to getting things done around

the house.. and trust me, this has been VERY VERY HARD because I used

to just clean the entire house in one fell swoop and never stop

during an entire saturday. Now, I make a list of every small chore

that needs to be done and I do ONE and only ONE and then sit down and

rest at the computer/TV/crafts whatever for around 15-20 minutes.

Then I get up and do another chore. If I do a large chore like

vaccuum the living room I may rest for 30 minutes. Many times, after

doing the chore I am not tired and really could push myself to do

another one, BUT I have discovered that if I will force myself to

stop and follow the routine I end up getting a LOT more done on a

Saturday or Sunday than I would if I pushed so hard to do it all at

once.

I do the same thing - I sit while I am doing stuff as much as I can and take

frequent breaks. I don't have anyone else here to do it and after the fight with

my daughter in law where she accussed me of asking my son to do too much and how

I should be doing more for myself, it will be a cold day in hell before I ask

either of them to do anything for me again.

So - I haven't a choice. I didn't clean the rest of the house this weekend, I

just did the fridge and the kitchen.

Oh and Costco is like a Sam's Club if you have them? It's a big warehouse.

, obviously you have a daughter-in-law who thinks this disease is BS.

Well, we have plenty of those kind in this world.  Someday, somewhere, somehow,

a light will go in inside some researcher's head.  Then people will be eating

their words.
