Guest guest
Hey Angie - LOL! Count Fibrola. Hope your daughter had a safe and happy prom night. They make our juniors and seniors view a mock car accident the week before prom to drill the message about driving drunk. Does your daughter's school do anything like that? I bet you're sound asleep right now from putting in a long night. Jeanne in WI Hey there Count Fibrola - I'm still up, though barely functioning.... Guest guest
Yeah, I finally crashed around 3am. I slept until 8am when my phone started ringing again from the telemarketers. Oh that just makes me so mad. I'm even on the do not call list and they still get me. She survived the night safely. Her school is very small and they actually have a police officer come do a breathalizer at the door for them to get in. I don't know about the movie. But they do show them those at other times like in health class, driver's ed, DARE classes, etc. Her bf asked her to marry him at the prom. Of course I'm biting my lip very hard but my daughter assures me she wants to finish college before she gets married. So its a long engagement. Mostly I think this was a stunt to upstage the prom. Long story. Typical teen games, my daughter got outplayed and boosted from her prom queen position; on a screw up by the administration who can't seem to add properly. You know, the mom a few years ago would have gone down there and raised hell to make everything right and fair. But she didn't want me to and the mom today has figured out the world of today screws over you all the time, and if she can get past it alright, and finds a way to upstage the prom queen on prom night to boot; so be it. Yeah, I know, shame on me; but I got too much scare tissue to be sunny. Besides, I didn't know they were going to do this, but I'm not sorry they did. Ok so I hope its a long engagement. Plus I know he wants to be engaged. He's also going back to school himself. She just wants to be able to make it on her own before she gets married. Something I tried to encourage her to do; not get married and be dependent on someone to survive. And my doggies survived their morning out - for those of you around long enough it was Mother's Day last year that we lost our Boxer puppy Krash, and never found him again. Oh and I made the call to my mom last night. She's an insomniac like I am and it was easier then. It's always easier to talk to her then; she seems more relaxed and my brother and dad are asleep and not bothering her. So it went ok. Oh and my brother called today and said they've got the first 'chunk of money' to make their move out here!! Whoohooo!! So they'll be out in 2 weeks to get started looking for a place to live, etc. Gosh it will so be nice to have someone around. Not 24/7; we're both very independent, but it will be nice to have someone at times. Besides, he's a biker!!
