Guest guest
That would be a good idea. Each of us that would like to participate could write their own stories. Just putting in what you would want people to know. That way if you don't want to add something that may be embarassing to you personally it won't be down. That could be what we will call mini chapters. Write as much as you want. I wouldn't even worry about the order your story goes. As in if you remember something else that should be in the beginning of your story. Just make a note on the side and incert here, type of thing. It doesn't have to be perfect writing, sentence wise. Anything that we feel maybe embarassing to a person but we feel needs to be told. We can put in another chapter and not put a name to it or change the name to protect. etc. We can all change our names if we want. Just so the stories are true and from our hearts. If this really takes off. Any doctors names we use we will have to get permission from to print. I think in stead of rewriting parts that are all ready in books like Fibro for dummies we could get permission to just use those books and any other info for references. People can look it up themselves if they are really interested. By the way if you know someone that would like to participate. Have them write something up. The more we can get the better it is. Don't worry if your story is similar to someone else's there are so many variences it won't matter. We would like people to see us like we are. Normally abnormal. When we are funny when we are sad. tell about the good days the bad. People that make us nuts. The good docs that don't beleive but at least try. The ones that roll their eyes. The ones that tell us what we finally have. The hard times of getting disability and all that fun stuff we've all talked about. Now if someone with any kind of experience would like to take this on. I am all for it. I will gladly give it a shot if no one else can. What we can do is mail our stories to whomever. Please take your time in writing. We can take a month or whatever we need. There is no time limit. I know I can't sit in one day or even a week to do my own story myself. We do have lives when we feel up to them. Not to mention when we don't feel up to them. Anyway this person can go through and maybe rework any grammer and organize each story. The main story you write will never be changed. Just organised if it needs to be. That way you can just write your thoughts as they come to you. When there is something compiled we will make copies and send each contributer a copy. After we have all read and made any comments or corrections. And we all aprove. Then we can take it to someone more professional. I have some friends that are teachers and might help out with double checking and grammer etc. Again if anyone else knows someone. A friend of a friend? I'm not positive on what to do after that. But I have people I can ask. So everyone the more the merrier. Any and all ideas are welcome. It could get our message out there. Even if it just sits in a doctors office. It doesn't have to be a big book. Just hopefully bigger than a kids golden book. Ha! We don't want it to get lost under a magazine or something. Maybe big enough to balance a wobbly table or chair. Needing some in put. New people please don't run off. No one has to participate if you don't want to. It's just an idea to try and get people to see us. We don't want pity. Just a little understanding. Y'all take care. Jan > > I agree, that is a great idea. I cannot do much more than type on the computer here. But anything you all think of on how to get it started... let me know. > love, > Debra V. >
Guest guest
You will probably also need a signed release from anyone submitting something to the book to be published. It would probably need to 1) give their permission for their work to be published and 2) state whether or not they will be receiving payment for their contributions and or royalties from sales and 3) give their persmission if someone is planning on editing any of the writing submitted. I would imagine that you would also need them to state that everything they submit is true and original work by themselves and nothing has been plagarized or copied from another source unless documented with a footnote or in a bibliography. That's the only points I can think of right now. N.
