Guest guest
Hi, My name is Janice. I live in Elimsport, Pa. A tiny village in central Pa. It's a beautiful valley. I've apparently had some form of FM for a long while. But really only started having big problems right after Thanksgiving last year. I have 3 children and 2 grandchildren. 2 girls 29 and 25 and a son 19. I have a grandson who is 3 1/2 and a grand daughter who is 1 1/2. Duaghter #2 is the one with kids. She and her hubby have lived with us for 4 years and are finally building a house. The grand kids are the high light of our lives. They are so fun. It will be sad when they move out in a couple of weeks.(I can see their house from mine.)Ha! It will be strange not tripping over toys and stuff. My husband is a local truck driver and I work part time at Walmart. That's me in a nut shell. I didn't tell you any scary stuff. Like about my mom or dad or stupid sister in laws. My brothers are lucky I love them. Did I mention that I have 2 real brothers, one adopted sister and 4 adopted brothers, and 4 step brothers. It's a long story but my adopted ones call me Aunt Jan. Ha! That really flips people out. Dysfunctional with a capital D. Have fun. Jan > > Well let's learn where everyone is from and a little about them. Guest guest
, I am Debra V. and live in East Tx. (Lufkin TX). -- about 1 1/2 hours north of Houston. I have two children ages almost 6 and almost 11. I am 44 and had the children late in life. They are precious to me but I find I have no energy to keep up with them and still work full time. My husband takes care of them for the most part because I HAVE to work. I am a registered nurse. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia about 5 years ago. It has really taken a toll on me. I do take prescription meds and find they work pretty well for me for the most part. Welcome to the group. Nice to meet you . hugs, Debra V. Subject: Where are you from? Guest guest
Hi , My name is Kristi and I am from Breezewood, PA. I have one child who is 11. I was diagnosed with Fibro in December of '07, but suffered with it for at least 3 years before I decided to go to the doctor. I felt " silly " for going to the doctor and telling her that I just hurt all over and I was exhausted all of the time, but she was great about it and I was so relieved to finally be getting help. I am a Teachers Assistant in a Kindergarten classroom. This is my first year doing that and I LOVE it! I take several prescriptions...temazepam, citalopram, Lyrica, and darvocet (as needed). I also go to the chiropractor once a week for a chiropractc/massage treatment. It has really helped me. Take care and it's great to meet you! Hugs, Kristi Subject: Where are you from? Guest guest
Hi Kristi, It is really nice to meet you. I used to be a Teachers Assistant, I absolutely loved it. I started in the Resource Room for kids ages K- 1 and that was just awesome. I worked in that room to help the teacher until she recovered from surgery and then they moved me into a Kindergarten class, it was so much fun. I just love kids and helping them learn was something that really touched me. Guest guest
Hi Debra, It is nice to meet you also. My brother and sister-in-law just moved to Weatherford, Texas just over a year ago and seem to really like it down there. I wouldn't mind living somewhere without snow, my pain really acts up in the winter. Thank you for replying and I look forward to talking with you more. Guest guest
Della, It is really nice to meet you. WOW, 15 grandkids, I have one and just adore him. Everything he has been through, it is just a blessing that he is still here with us. My mom has 37 grandkis and at last count I believe it was 15 great-grandchildren and she is just 64, we have a big family. I also have RLS and it makes it so hard to sleep. I have a hard time sleeping as it is but now with the fibro and RLS that just makes it even harder to sleep. I have always been an insominiac but now I am just tired all the time. I used to be able to handle not sleeping or only sleeping for a few hours but now with this fibro I am just tired all the time. I look forward to getting to know you more and talking to you. Guest guest
Janice, It is so nice to meet you. My daughter and son-in-law don't live with me but I take care of my grandson Monday-Friday while they work and we just have a blast. I know what it is like to be tripping over toys all the time....LOL My daughter and son-in-law are talking about moving a 1/2 hour to an hour away from me, that is going to kill me not being able to see them everyday. I enjoy taking care of my grandson and I love seeing my daughter every morning and after she gets off of work, I'm going to miss that so very much when they move. I know what you mean by dysfuntional, my husband's family is a little odd in parts. Won't explain, don't want to confuse anyone today...LOL I look forward to talking to you more. Guest guest
Hi, I was raised in Texas and transplanted to Nashville, TN when I met and married my husband. I have had chronic pain (now chronic intractable) for almost 15 yrs. Most of my pain is a result of several diseases of the spine (DDD, spondlylosis, stenosis, scoliosis, osteoporosis, osteoarthritis), 2 spinal fusions, 1 laminectomy, 2 neurostimulators. Currently have stenosis and herniations in cervical, thorasic and lumbar spine. I now have fibro and cfs as a result of the ongoing pain. Also have hypothyroidism, depression, generalized anxiety, hypercholestorol, high blood pressure caused by the pain, diabetes. I have a loving DH and two great furbabies Roscoe and Abby, my doggies. Guest guest
, It is nice to meet you. I have a question for you, what part of Illinois are you from? I grew up in Illinois and moved to Indiana in 1989 and have been here ever since. I grew up in Orion, IL and that is pretty much where I stayed until I got out of school and then moved all over the Quad Cities and then moved out here. I look forward to talking to you more often. I'm 57, married to and live with my 97 year old Mom to help take care of her. I know I've had fibro for a couple years at least, but only diagnosed a few months ago. Well let's learn where everyone is from and a little about them. If you don't want to respond to this that is fine, I just thought it would be a good way for us newbies to learn about others. Guest guest
My name is A. Neff I was born in Texas, raised in Missouri, and have lived in four other states since then. I have a bachelor of science in project management and was ordained a minister just over a year ago. I live in a small town outside Savannah, Georgia, and have done so since late 1997. I've been married for 16+ years to my husband Ron. We have four children, a daughter, 16 in a few weeks, and three sons, 14, 12, and 10 years of age. I was diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome the same year I found myself expecting my youngest child. The following year, I learned I have TMJ as well. I was diagnosed with chronic arthritis back in 1989, so I've had these types of problems for most of my life at this point, working on 20 years now. My CFS has decided to rear its ugly head this year. I met, in person mind you, one of the owners of this group, and she now lives near me. She and I share much more than chronic pain, we share similar chaos in our families, and similar outlooks in life, including poetry, writing and ministry.- I take no prescription medications, because I have yet to find a doctor I can trust here, yet, anyway. I loved my former doctor, my pcp, I mean, from Alabama where I used to live. I may never see another doctor like him. My last one here never seemed to have the time to see me. I always ended up talking with the nurse practitioner, which gets me nowhere. My OB/GYN was funded through Medicaid because of my husband's lack of employ when I found myself expecting. I plan on going next week to the doctor's office, one that runs on income based information. I'm going with my sister-in-law who has realized her blood pressure and blood sugar are getting out of hand. She has no insurance, and is an LPN herself, pretty scary in this day and age, you know. By the way, I come from a huge family of 11 people including parents, the eldest of nine children, eight surviving to this date and time. Both of my grandmothers are and were living with Polymialgia. Even though I'm in Pennsylvania, we have dishnetwork and one of the channels is WGN, a Chicago station. Take care and it was great to meet you! Hugs, Kristi " C.M. Guest guest
I am Gail I live in Leonardtown, land. It is a medium size town in the Western peninsula of land. If it was not for the naval base we would be much smaller. I am married to a wonderful man Dennis with two unexpected boys 16 and Kurt 13. I got pregnant late in life after losing 4. I would love to move to West Virginia or the panhandle of land but will have to wait on that.
