Guest guest
Hey girl. That is what I take also. I have heard that calcium does not absorb properly without Vit D. So I always buy the ones with Vit D. I am kind of wondering if that might be why all my teeth are breaking off. It might be a calcium/Vit D deficiency. love and hugs, Debra V. Guest guest
Calcium and Vit D does not absorb well without magnesium. You might consider adding it, to reach full benefits. Guest guest
Debi, You probably don't get enough magnesium from your multi vitamin to be therapeutic for you. Oh, and make sure you are getting magnesium citrate because if you take magnesium oxide you will be spending a lot of time in the bathroom. Mag Oxide is what they give you to clean you out before a colonoscopy. Guest guest
My teeth are crumbling too!! Narcotic meds cause dry mouth syndrome. Lack of saliva will cause tooth decay. It is good to chew sugarless gum, so I have read. Annie --------------------------------- Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Yahoo! Mobile. Try it now. Mag Oxide has less of a laxative effect. Magnesium Glycinate has less of a laxative effect than either. That's what I take. I take Magnesium Glycinate by Pure Encapsulations. My osteopathic doc's office sells it, but I get it from www.illnessisoptional.com. It's available elsewhere too. A word about calcium blood levels: it's hard to evaluate calcium levels by a blood test because the body will do anything to keep the blood level constant, including pulling calcium from the bones. The PTH is a blood test that is a ratio between calcium and vitamin D levels, I think, that helps to tell if the body is pulling calcium from the bones. If the PTH level is high, it generally means that either calcium or vitamin D are deficient. As always, we should talk to our docs about this.
