Hi KIm,

I'm not a doctor so I cant dx you.

But, I have PTC and from my experience this is how I understand it.

When the volume of my body fluids gets high (like PMS time) it also, (as an

additional bonus!), increases the fluid level in my head.

Now, if I have PTC I already have a problem with elevated ICP -- this is then

exacerbated by premenstrual fluid increased.

It will be worse in the AM because CSF has collected in your head during

sleep.

Remember symptoms of high pressure are more than just headaches, it also

includes nausea, fatique and stupor.

When I experience stupor it can be in degrees from mild to severe. I will

have trouble focusing, concentrating.

For example: One Saturday morning I was trying to get dressed, I needed a

pair of socks. There were no clean socks in my drawer, so I went downstairs

to look through the clean (but as yet unfolded) laundry for a pair.

I was home alone because my husband had taken both of our daughters bowling.

When they got home, I was sitting on the floor in the middle of a big pile of

laundry.

I kept looking through the pile of laundry, but I couldn't hold the idea in

my head of what I was looking for.

I would pick of a white sock with a red stripe and think OK, ...if I find

another white sock with red stripe I have a match, then I would find another

sock of another type or color and think OK, ...I will try to match this sock,

on and on, I went.

My husband and kids came in they found me, just as I said, in piles of

laundry (with lots of socks -- some matching, some not) And still trying to

find a pair.

I will feel dopey, drunk -- hungover even.(and I don't even have a good time

to show for it).

This isn't terribly surprising since hangover headaches come from dehydration

I believe.

In any event, in my experience it is all typical PTC symptoms.

Hope this helps,

Vikki in town, PA
