Many strores themselves will now deliver. Go to your stores website and it will

give you all the details. I want to use it soooo bad, but I am spending so much

on meds, I have to cut back where I can. Grocery shopping is the worst. We

hardly ever eat out and I try to stay away from processed food and cook healthy

and from scratch, so I have a lot of shopping to do. On the days I shop, I do

not make dinner. Plus, I have to use coupons which makes shoppping even slower

and drags out the pain. Fibro is a joy, joy!!

Hi Deb,

The grocery store has become one of my worst experiences. I have finally had

to start having them delivered and only go to the store to get the extra few

items that were not on the order list or get something special. Stop and Shop

has what they call Peapod that lets you order your groceries over the Internet

and pick a delivery time. The delivery people put the bags in my kitchen and all

I have to do is put them away (which takes me a couple of days). The site uses

the same flyer that the store uses for sales. It costs $6,50 to have an order

delivered and if you pick certain delivery times they take $1.50 off and they

give you coupons for free deliveries if you use if once every month or two

months. I particularly like using it for the heavy things and awkward things.

If you don't have Peapod in you area there are other sites that deliver

groceries from orders over the Internet.

I think most of us try not to complain. That is what this site is for though,

so we don't have to complain to others in our lives. And to give the support

where needed also. And of course to pass along any info that might be helpful.

Or just to chat.

Going to bed earlier might help a lot. If you went to bed just a hour earlier

you would get 8 hours and that might be enough to make you feel better.

Hope all goes well,

Marti

About 80% of the time or so, people wouldn't even know that I was in

pain. I try not to complain about things and make the best of the

situation I've been given.

There is so much that I need to work on, it's just so difficult to

figure out where to start. Insomnia is a huge issue. I NEED and

enjoy my alone time at night. So I generally don't get to bed until

2 am. I get up around 9 am most days. I know this isn't enough

sleep, it's so hard to break the cycle.

The fibro fog is a huge issue also. I've been thinking that I might

also have ADD, but have never been diagnosed.

There are many times that I get to the grocery store only to be

barely making it to the cashier and then to the car. I've called my

hubby a couple of times to come rescue me, because I was in so much

pain and exhausted. It's like I just need to sit and can't continue.

I am about 80 lbs over weight and know that I need to lose that, but

the pain, depression, lack of sleep, etc and it all becomes too much.

I am going to try very hard to work on journaling. I know that it

will help to pinpoint when I'm having a flare up and areas that I

need help or to work on.

I am looking forward to getting to know more of you here.

I have to spend the $5.00 on delivery, unless I have a free one, because I can't

do the shopping anymore. Peapod takes coupons and I use them on anything I have

them for. I too spend a fortune on meds and that's with insurance. I don't

know what I will do when I lose my insurance but something will happen I guess.

I do get some samples and have programs with some manufacturers that give them

for free with a script, but still the amount of money I spend is monumental -

$2500 last year alone. I got a print out for my taxes.

I too try not to eat any processed food and eat healthy foods, but these are

the ones I have delivered. I never eat out, unless once in a blue moon when

someone else is treating. My son treats sometimes and a friend once in a while.

Take care,

Marti

Marti, I need to look into Peapod!!! Never heard of it. The stores charge

about $15 and I grocery shop twice a week, so 30 bucks is too much. And Peapod

takes coupons????? Yeah! The stores don't do that...at least they didn't the

last time I checked. I'm assuming Peapod.com? I'll google it. Thanks for the

info Marti!! You rock...

Hi Marti - you are fortunate it is only $5 for delivery. It costs me $10 - but

it's a $10 well spent. I would spend that much in impulse buying anyway. This

way I JUST get what is on my list. I've been shopping that way for about 2

years now and I love it.

I use either Safeway or Bashas. Bashas is my favorite - I have done comparrison

shopping and they always come within a few cents either way of each other.

PeaPod is not here. I just checked. I've never rec'd bad meat or produce from

either either. I just prefer Basha's stuff over Safeway but the delivery price

is the same.
