Jill,

Birkenstocks are supposed to start out hard til you break them

in (and do it slowly) and the more you use them the softer they

get and it molds to your foot. This is unlike some other kinds

of shoes that start out soft and then get harder.

I eventually want to get another pair of Birkenstock sandals but

I have no money to do that right now.

Jill,

The reason it was harder for you is because they were molded for your

mom's feet only. You wouldn't have been able to get a true sense of

how soft they are on your feet by trying her shoes. You would only

know by having a pair of your own and breaking them so that it molded

to your feet.

I'm glad it works for your mom too. I wish I had a bunch of pairs of

them. I hope one day when I get a job to get some more of them and

several more Crocs of the regular kind and maybe eventually the

prescription ones as well because of my Orthotics.

I have two more pairs of shoes to try and break in for my orthotics.

One of them is my tennis shoes made by Asics. These are good shoes

because they are designed with a special gel that helps protect the

feet.

Kristy,

Actually, the ironic thing is that they did not work for my mom. She limped

around in horrible pain all the time. I did not understand about PF at the time

and didn't know how to help her. Also, since she was a nurse, I trusted she

knew what she was doing. I should have realized that she never took care of

herself and would not spend a dime on herself to find something that worked

better (someone else bought her the Birk's). She has since passed away.....from

not taking care of herself.

Jill,

I'm so sorry for your loss. The reason I asked was because I

was curious to see how recent the incident was.

One other questions about the Birkenstocks she was given. Were

these the kind with the cork in the footbed or another material?
