If that's all she could afford and thought it would save her life, I can't fault her. I woudn't have done that. But I had more resources than her. I hope she heals soon. Guest guest
I had a wonderful WLS surgeon in Mexico. Shows like that only focus on the butchers. There are also butchers here in the US. Yes, Mexico probably has more of them. But that's why you shouldn't go into something like this lightly & should research the hell out of it. Not just go there because it's cheaper. I would go to Mexico again in a heartbeat for surgery. But, I'm not going to go just any Joe Schmo! Guest guest
I thought I remembered someone saying they had WLS in Mexico. I'm sure there is many success stories out of Mexico. But, this one lady on Maury was like... " I went to the bathroom and roaches were crawling everywhere " . WHAT WAS SHE THINKING??? The first sign of uncleaniness, I'd been long gone. How could anyone logically think because of the cost, they could deal with the place being nasty. No wonder she got an infection that almost cost her life. Evidently she didn't research her surgeon and facility. Anyway I was just dumbfounded someone could do that to themself. > > I just got to watch a few minutes, but I was horrified at the plastic > > surgury nightmares that have occured in Mexico. Guest guest
I think you have to do as much research as you can, whether it is here in the United States or in Mexico. I have to agree with sherry here, that kind of uncleanliness anywhere and I would have been long gone. Lin Lhsh@... American by birth, Saved by the grace of God. Re: Anyone see Maury today? Guest guest
That was her own stupidity. Like you said...how could she not see the signs that this was going to be a disaster? Guest guest
, I totally agree with you, there are bad doctor's everywhere. I am a nurse and there have been doctor's I have worked around that I wouldn't recommend to my worst enemy! It is funny because people will do tons and tons of research on a new car but none on a doctor that is going to put you under anesthesia and cut you open for a major surgery! I would say get references from patients. A good way to do this is talk to people in the waiting room who have had surgery and see what they say. I did that and got only the highest praise for my doctor. Good Luck! Take Care~ in CA

Guest guest
That sounds like sensationalistic TV to me!!
