Guest guest
Cassandra, I am so sorry to hear of the childhood problems. I believe that alot of us had some type of abuse in childhood.... fibro related or not. But I know that I just would not like to have to sleep with a mask or something on my face either. Even if it does not relate to anything in childhood. But I suppose if it were needed I would certainly give it a try. You face an even greater challenge though because whatever you experienced probably would lead to flashbacks or a phobia of having anything attached to your face. Good luck honey. love, Debra V. Hi everyone, Ok, lets start with GERD. I take Prevacid,( I have Medicare partD plus a free supplemental insurance for meds from the State) after trying the other acid meds Prevacid seemed to work best for me, just once a day and I was fine. Then came the incident with the stomach acid getting into my vocal tract and burning a bunch of tissue and damaging my vocal cords. I got the Prevacid two times a day then. I didn't follow up on the speech therapy because in the state where I was living then it was just too expensive. About the sleep apnea- just the possibility of it scares me. I do not have any heart problems that I know of, other than an occassioanal high pressure reading and that is part of the metabolic syndrome that I am recovering from. I told my PCP about the Cat Dream and she said it was a classic symptom of nocturnal asthma attack and put me on a long acting bronchodilator which does help. I didn't tell her that I'd been observed to stop breathing while asleep and them abruptly start again. I am fearfull of anything restrictive on me when I sleep. I honestly would rather risk death or further injury to my body. I am going to be extreemly brave and tell you WHY. It is because of very scarey and painful abuse that was done to me as a child. Cassandra I'm not stuck,I'm just ancestorally challenged. ------------ --------- --------- --- Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Yahoo! Mobile. Try it now.
