Guest guest
Hi, Ok I somehow missed that part on my tramadol. I take effexor for being Bi polar. I was so excited when the RA doc gave me the tramadol for pain I didn't think about it. I've been on it for a couple of months now and haven't noticed anything different or worse. I'd like to think that they did look at the list of stuff I was already taking and wouldn't have given it to me if there were a problem. Plus most pharmacies will be red flagged by the computer if there is a serious enough conflict with any meds. They probably changed the perscription because vicodin is supposed to be bad for you long term. Good luck, Jan > > Hi, > > Just curious if anyone has had any weird side effects from ultram? > > I have been taking vicodin and I called my doctor for a refill but one of the other doctors, I don't know, sent in a prescription for tramadol. After reading the information about it, I'm a little worried about taking it because of the caution about taking it with antidepressants. I already take prozac, wellbutrin for depression and I also take maxalt for headaches. I don't see how this is a better medication considering all the warnings about seratonin syndrome if taken with antidepressants and triptans. >
Guest guest
I take neurontin, wellbutrin, and abilify for bipolar disorder. I also have Fibro and some bulched disks in my back. I have tried Ultra/tramadol for pain but it did nothing for me on the flip side I did not have any of the side affects associated with taking it with antidepressants. I currently take hydrocodone and if the pain gets really bad or if I get hit by an out of control migraine I take stadol. I would just keep track in a journal or something about anyside affects you are feeling even if they are tiny. We take so many medications that it's hard to know what's a side affect from our medication to whats a side affect caused by having multiple illness or health issues. It seems like it has some pretty strong side effects and warning for addiction, according to what I've read. I'm wondering if it's " addictive " because it also affects the seratonin. I had a terrible time getting off of amitriptyline. Maybe I'm overly concerned about this??? Thanks for any info. Gail C
Guest guest
I have been taking it when the pain gets really bad for about a year now and have not had any side effects and have not become addicted to it. It does help quite a bit. I only take it at night if the pain is so bad I cant sleep and it not only helps with the pain, but it makes me sleepy too so I get some sleep. Guest guest
I take Ultracet/Tramadol which is Ultram with Tylenol. My understanding is that it is less addictive than hydrocodone, but also not as strong. I seem to have built up a tolerance to it--I was taking it everyday, and I realized it was no longer helping with the pain, so I stopped it nd take it on the worse days only. I was given it because the hydrocodone made me too nauseous and I was taking 6-8 Aleve, 1-2 times a day. On my bad days I take the Ultracet, 3-4 Aleve and sometimes another painkiller or muscle relaxant, too. As for the anti-depressant interaction, it is only with MAO-I's, and I don't believe that any of the ones you mentioned are that kind, but it is worth checking on the internet or with a pharmacist. Good luck! > ultram / tramadol > > > Hi, > > Just curious if anyone has had any weird side effects from ultram? > > I have been taking vicodin and I called my doctor for a refill but one of the other doctors, I don't know, sent in a prescription for tramadol.
