I do hope they did not damage that sciatic nerve. They probably did not. I sure hope you come out of this flare soon. I know that a fibro flare is just so horrible. No one can understand except those of us who experience them. It really just sucks all the energy out of your body and puts you in pain beyond belief. Subject: Debra B Update To: Fibromyalgia_Support_Group Date: Thursday, May 8, 2008, 4:48 AM Well, as some of you remember Saturday I started a " flare " and it was easing up Monday Morning. Tuesday Morning was my spinal tap and all of that went well, had an excellent Nurse! During the procedure I had a very sharp pain go from my butt down my right leg in the back. I told the doc that was doing the procedure he said ok. When I got back to my little area I told the nurse about it and before it was all said and done they had to give me Morphine for my pain. So, flare leaving on Monday Morning, procedure Tuesday Morning, severe pain in my right leg, and on top of all that....I had a fibro flare hit me and just took me down to the ground. By the time I went to bed Tuesday night I was crawling. My body felt so heavy...I was in bed all day yesterday!!! Worse one I have ever ever ever had!!!!! I hope the procedure didn't do anything to my scatic nerve. I already have severe back problems, I certainly don't need anything else. Thanks for all the prayers, thoughts and kind words! I don't know what I would do without any of you guys!! YOU GUYS ROCK!!! I am going to try to catch up on my emails today and respond to the ones that I can. Guest guest Posted May 9, 2008 Report Share Posted May 9, 2008 Well, I just got off the phone with my Pain Management Nurse. The doctor wants to do a discography on me Thursday, May 15 at 10am. It's going to be painful. She also stated that I have Spondylosis, which is another word for Degenerative Disc Disease as well as Stenosis which is narrowing of the spinal canal. So after this procedure on Thrusday he will send my report over to a surgeon. I am scared to death!! I know that surgery is my only option but now it's here, it's time to talk about surgery and what can be done. I know that the narrowing of the spinal canal will be an operation. That may also explain why my spinal pressure was only 20. Gosh, I just hope things start to come together. I know that regardless of what I tell this group that I have prayers being sent up for me and I so thank each of you for that. I would like to ask for a few more regarding my back issues. Like now, I have been sitting in this chair for about 5 minutes and my feet and legs are numb......something's wrong! Just please pray for me. Each of you are special to me! I don't know what I would do without this on-line support, but when I read these emails it's like talking face to face. I had a laminectomy in 2006 for stenosis that covered the length of 3-4 discs around the spinal column and also around 6 nerves from those discs. It was the best thing that I have done so far as my health is concerned. Why they made me wait so long befor I had surgery is still a mystery. Anyway, just wanted to let you know that it worked very, very well for me. Try and not be so scared. (I know, easier said than done) Take care. I just know everything is going to be alright for you. I know these tests can be scary but just remember there is Someone looking out for you and taking care of you every step of the way, He loves you and wouldn't let anything that you can't handle happen to you.
