Guest guest
, Given those 2 choices, I would opt for standing in the Dr's office and screaming but don't know if it will help. The alternative would put you at the mercy of all the underpaid help. Pain is a horrible thing to cope with as we all know. Have you been to a pain specialist who is certified to offer medications that help if you need them? Most Dr's are afraid to prescribe them but there are specially trained pain management specialists who can help. It took me three pain specialists before I found one who knew how to diagnose and treat FM. When I mention the muscle jerks, all the Dr's look glassy-eyed. They are exactly as you described them. I was even having them during both of my sleep studies before I fell asleep - don't know if I have them when I am asleep. Since mine aren't painful, just very annoying, I've been trying to ignore them. I think there is a connection between the muscle jerks and the fact that sometimes my legs or arms won't go in the direction I want them to. Scary I know. I would try calling pain management centers and ask how they treat pain. The first one I went to insisted on 3 shots in my lower back, the second one insisted on 1 different type of shot in my lower back. Fortunately when he saw that didn't work, he referred me to a third pain specialist who is treating it with serious medication. Do you live in or near a city that would give you some options? They will all tell you they treat severe pain, but the question is how. Good luck, Margaret B > I'm in some serious pain lately. I'd like to know if any of you have > an idea.
