Guest guest
I haven't had any problems with the small ones. I was leery of buying the large one for the low back. I have Lidoderm patches for the low back. Sorry you got burnt from them. Jeanne in WI > > I got the Salon Pas and was using them for my back, but they gave me a second degree burn. Guest guest
Salonpas patches are with the pain patches at Walmart, you know like the BenGay patches or IcyHot. They are pretty small, and have a menthol smell. I like them for the trigger points around my shoulders and my trapezius muscles. I've heard some say that stick too well, and have a tough time removing them, but I am the opposite. My skin tends to be damp from that clammy, sweaty feeling from meds, so if I sleep with them on, sometimes they come off. HTH. Nice to see you back online, Debra. Guest guest
Thanks for the info. I am planning a trip to wal-mart this morning so I will look for them. They may just help the pain in my lower back. I know it's been a while since I have been on, but somedays I just don't have the energy to even turn the computer on. Guest guest
I've been reading the posts regarding the Salonpas as I've never heard of them. I've used various other type of otc patches, Icy Hot, Thermacare, even had Lidoderm patches from the doc. Went to Walgreen's and bought a box of the Salonpas (40 to a box) and they work really well on my fingers - transcription is killing me so I put those on my fingers. Although I do have to put band aids on top of them to get them to stay - but they help. While I was at Walgreen's though, I saw the large Salonpas patches - 1 for $1.99 - and right next to them were the Walgreen's brand Hot Capsaicin Patches - 3 for $3.99 - bought those instead - and oh my God - it's like wearing a permanent heating pad on my lower back - I could not believe how long they stayed hot. I'm used to hot packs and heating pads so the heat from the patches which might bother some, worked great for me. And they didn't seem to curl up on the edges like some other patches I've worn. So thank you for the information about the Salonpas which also led me to the generic larger patches. Teri (central Wisconsin) Re: Re: ? about Salon Pas I haven't had any problems with the small ones. Guest guest
In case someone has not answered this yet, I will tell you honey. They are little pain patches that are over the counter. I find them at wal mart on the bottom shelf in the aisle with the other pain patches and heating patches. They have menthol, some kind of salicylate (sp?) and something else. They are kind of like icy hot or bengay but in a patch and they work good on the little tender spots especially. They are also inexpensive. love and hugs, Debra V. debra bunt dirkfan2@...> wrote: Thanks for the info. I am planning a trip to wal-mart this morning so I will look for them. Guest guest
I saw there was a recall on one brand of these pads.......I can't remember which ones. They were causing 2nd and 3rd degree burns. Was the recall posted on here or did I see it somewhere else? Brain fog. I'll try to remember...... Jill Re: ? about Salon Pas Debi, I tried the larger sized salon-pas for my back the other day and noticed it was burning me, especially when I leaned into something (like a chair or the driver's seat!). As soon as I got home, I took it off; I don't know if I got any degree of burn because DH wasn't available to look, but I feel pretty confident that I had the little hole marks on my back until they faded! I have used the smaller sized ones without any problems, but my back was hurting so bad (and still is) that I thought this would give me good relief. I think I'll go back to thermacare - it's a little more $$ but I know it won't burn me! Darlene > > I got the Salon Pas and was using them for my back, but they gave me a > second degree burn. Guest guest
Hello, ALL, Talking about Lidoderm 5% patches... I put 1 on each side of my lower spine before bed and lay on a heating pad on LOW....it shuts off Automatically (it has a " BRAIN " hah) but anyway..... In the morning.....believe it or not...I wake up without the feeling that I am " going to brake-in-two.... There is also another NEW patch out there called: " FLECTOR " - It has the medicine called Voltaren impregnated in it The only problem with it is that it does not have the adhesive factor that the Lidoderm patch has so you have to use some type of tape to secure it to your skin. Because my skin peels off so easily, I use paper-tape for sensitive skin. I imagine, because " it is new " they will eventually add adhesive to it or may lose its' popularity REAL fast....I know I was not happy about it!! Because my heal surgery has gone bad, giving me horrendous pain, I use a combination of the Flector and Lidoderm patch encasing it before bed, and when I awaken, I have no pain for about 8 good hours.... Sometimes, we have to be our own doctors..... 'Hope this information may help someone else..... Take care all,

Guest guest
I bought some today at our local grocery store. I got the small and the large ones. I have one on my herniated disc area right now and I am loving it! Debra B Re: Re: ? about Salon Pas Salonpas patches are with the pain patches at Walmart, you know like the BenGay patches or IcyHot.
