Guest guest
Tonight we had Lobster Bisque for dinner.I wasn't sure weather to count it as some liquid or as food so I tried to make it food by adding some steamed shrimp to it. I haven't had any kind of soup since my liquid diet weeks & was wondering what everyone else considers this type of meal. I was also wondering if this type of eating is what we are warned will stretch the pouch, liquid with meals? Waiting to hear some replies - Thanks - Kim RNY 6/23/06 298/210/
Guest guest
I would count it as food. It is just a plus that it is a little runny. I don't think it will strech the pouch as long as you do not stuff yourself. BTW Lobster Bisque sounds YUMMY!!! Guest guest
Costco had Lobster Bisque as a sample so I got to read the nutrition data while sampling it. That stuff has the highest fat, cholesterol and calories of almost anything I've ever seen. Run from it. > > > > Tonight we had Lobster Bisque for dinner.I wasn't sure weather to > > count it as some liquid or as food so I tried to make it food by > > adding some steamed shrimp to it. > > > > I haven't had any kind of soup since my liquid diet weeks & was > > wondering what everyone else considers this type of meal. > > > > I was also wondering if this type of eating is what we are warned > will > > stretch the pouch, liquid with meals? > > > > Waiting to hear some replies - > > > > Thanks - > > Kim > > RNY 6/23/06 > > 298/210/135 > > >
Guest guest
I don't know if soup stretches the pouch or not. In general, I normally don't eat too much of the liquid. I don't count the liquid in soup. I count it as food as I generally eat the 'stuff' out of the soup and leave the liquid. The Lobster Bisque sounds great. I'll have to look for some next time I shop. I recently bought a 3-4 lb box of shrimp from Sams. I take 5 or 6 shrimp from the package; thaw it in cold water; spray it with Pam and sprinkle garlic powder on it; then bake in oven at 400* about 10-15 minutes till the tails turn orange. Yummy! and it's about 18 g of protein 0g carb.
