Guest guest
Carefull Debra, That is a great med (some formulations also taste good and you can chew and follow with water) but everyone builds a tolerance to it. It will be tempting to up the dose and your doc may do that a couple times. After that you will have to continue the med at a consistant dose, even though it will eventualy feel like it is doing nothing it is still providing a beneficial effect on your body. I've been on Klonipin since 1998 when I became toxic on Valium. If you get to that point and want to go off Klonopin, talk to your doc who should give you a schedule of how to decrease gradualy. If your doc says to just stop taking it then go to a different doc. Klonopin has a hefty half life so it will still be i your system 4-7 days (?) after your last dose. Withdrawal symptoms from klonopin include but are not limited to : tremmors, sweating, sleep disturbance, creeepy-crawly sensations and can last more than a few days. Good luck Cassandra > > I am being given Clonazepam and it works great! That's not to say that I still have them from time to time. What I like about this pill is that I can place a couple under my tongue to dissolve and it's in my system fast and gets me through rough patchs. I keep them in my purse at ALL times!! It's like the credit card commerical... " DON'T LEAVE HOME WITHOUT IT! Guest guest
Well damn! I must be really missing out not having the melt under your tongue clonazepam. I have been taking it for many years and have never changed my dosage. You are right about it not producing any effect that you can measure. It just seems to keep me from being in a panic, which is a great thing. I know not to stop taking it all of a sudden and that it is addictive. I hope I don't have to stop taking it and can't see a reason why unless something drastic happens. Guest guest
I have noticed that the 2mg generic Klonopin is crunchier and not so sweet in the past couple of years, although if I want to get it in and dissolved fast I do chew it up and it washes down with no residue. Once I did have to stop Klonopin and all other meds, suddenly, at home, alone, with the only medical assistance being my Nurse Practitioner on the other end of the phone. I had gastroeneritis and could not eat or drink anything without yacking it up. I did have to go to the ER because of dehydration but no one was concerned at all that I wasn't getting my meds. I guess I was too sick to look that mentaly unstable. Honestly, at that point, I didn't even notice the Klonopin withdrawal and I was on 2mg 3Xday (same as now). I just thought I was dying from puking and pooping so much. The only thing I could manage to focus on was how much fluid I was taking in and how much I peed- cos I didn't want to go back to ER for rehydration again.
