Hi Angie,

I love road trips too and used to take them all the time. I would still like

to do it if I could. Of course there's the gas prices too so I probably

couldn't go anywhere even if I could drive for long distances.

My son stays in hostels. He travels a lot and doesn't spend much money at all

- I mean really doesn't. He says he sees people my age, 59, in them all the

time. I haven't stayed in one yet, but may give it a try soon. My son,

31, drives me on vacations sometimes and treats me too. He's very frugal. It's

a shame that it's who takes me places when he doesn't make much money and

my daughters who make over $100,000 each don't take me anywhere. But I do love

going places with . He is a special ed teacher for elementary school and

because teachers don't earn much money he is a lab tech for the evening shift -

to 11:00. I don't know how he makes it in Boston on what he makes but he finds

all sorts of ways to cut back. I wish he lived down here in Connecticut so he

would be closer but he really loves Boston.

Take care,

Marti

I wonder how many of us have lost the ability to drive? Being in a large city

with really busy highways, I really cannot get out. I will drive down the road

to the pharmacy or grocery store on a " good " day.

Thank goodness for our healthy, supportive spouses. My munchkins have fur ;-).

drive again (if I can) I need to get out to a used bookstore too!!

hat to those parent with 2 or more munchkins to look after.

I'm lucky my wife is around to drive, especially at night.

I have a small pickup that has been parked in the driveway since last

year to give you an idea about how long it's been since I drove on a

regular basis.
