Guest guest
I wonder how many of us have lost the ability to drive? Being in a large city with really busy highways, I really cannot get out. I will drive down the road to the pharmacy or grocery store on a " good " day. Thank goodness for our healthy, supportive spouses. My munchkins have fur ;-). Guest guest
I don't post much. I've just been so fatigued. Anyways, I caught this one. I decided not to get books anymore. Guest guest
Hi , I have the third one and yes, a laugh is just the thing it deserves. I tried the treatment years ago and while it just about killed me, which I guess would be getting rid of Fibromyalgia, it didn't cure me. Hope the others are good. I wish I could figure out how to use the scanner on my printer. I'm such a doofus about these things. My son, after laughing, said he would show me when he came to visit. But I have no idea when that will be. Hopefully by the end of May. I was thinking then because he will be out of UMASS then, but I forgot the elementary school that he is a special ed teacher in doesn't get out until the third week in June. So still not sure when he will be here. I may try looking at the manual and see if I can figure it out. It shouldn't be hard I wouldn't think. Oh well! The life of the teckno incompetent. Guest guest
Being that I don't have a wife who can drive me - or a husband either - I am divorced, I usually have to get someone in my family to drive me places. My daughter Andi takes me to my eye specialist doctor's appointments and I try to drive to the others, when I can. It's hard having to rely on others when you live alone. I even have my groceries delivered. I did check on the Angel Food Ministries and there is one about 30 minutes from my house. I may be able to do that. I read their menu for May and you do get a lot for your $30.00. I would have to get someone to take me there though. Marti Loest boltzero@...> wrote: > > Hi , > > You are one busy guy!!! Guest guest
When I read Fibromyalgia and Cure in the same descriptive title I immedeatly thought " Snake Oil " . Looking at it from another perspective I'm courious as to the claims of a supposed cure, and to see if the claims will hold any water. Time is the tell all, if the writings are true other people will come forward to back up the claims. The same holds true for the opposite, people will shine a light on the truth. And the truth will set you free.
Guest guest
I have one of those munchkins, a cat named LC, but he won't drive me anywhere. Hi Annie You go to the same places I do, adding my doctor's appointments - aren't they great, fun places to go. I even have a neighbor who works at CVS who will bring me my prescriptions if I can remember to plan ahead. I wish I could plan ahead more often, but I tend to call in refills when I need them. I don't really know why I can't do it several days before I need them. It's not the Interstates or highways that bother me, it's the distance. I'm also afraid of going somewhere and not being able to drive back after I do something. It happened to me a couple of times. My Fibro Wall came tumbling down and I became confused and in terrible pain and had to sit in my car and try to take a short nap to recover before I could drive home. This happened when I was at a mall and was about 45 minutes from home. To get home I would be driving through the city on the Interstate so I had to be alert. Now I basically stay in town unless I get the nerve to drive to my daughter Andi's house (40 minutes away) and stay the night and drive back the next day. It doesn't work great because I'm usually tired from doing things but it's better than not getting to play with my grand kids. Don't do that often though. I'm sorry you have the same problem with driving much. Marti Annie G fudgie4u@...> wrote: I wonder how many of us have lost the ability to drive? Guest guest
Hi Angie, Good to hear from you. I miss you around here. I'm sorry your having such a problem with fatigue. I battle that and sometimes have to go days without posting. Now I don't post as much as I use to because it's just too much. You're so right that it would reduce the clutter. It's hard for me to use the word clutter though to describe books. I love my books so. I have so many and when I've got a spare dollar I buy another one - I buy the used ones on Amazon. They are really cheap, even in hardcover - from 99 cents and up. All the ones I've gotten have been in great shape. You have to buy them from the vendors who sell on Amazon. Anyway, you make a good point. But if it comes to most anything and my books - the other thing will probably go. There's just something about books for me. Wish I could get rid of the " true clutter " though. I'm just too tired and in pain to keep up. Marti Angie munchkiny2k_1111@...> wrote: I don't post much. I've just been so fatigued. Guest guest
When my estranged parents hit the skids, my father was in ill health from cigarette cancer, and my -3rd- stepmother was slammed with Multiple Sclerosis when she was 38yrs old. I did what I could for them, I bought them a used car so they could go to Dr appointments, gas, groceries, I spent the night several times when my father's health was really bad. This is part of the reason my wife and I are in bankruptcy. In the end his excessive abuse burned the last bridge behind him and the cancer he has worked so hard for all his life will finally take him. I had already spent enough of my years dealing with his self-destructive behavior and I had a marriage and a new baby to attend to. Neither of my two " Stoner " sisters helped out during this time, I haven't seen one since the early 90's and the other since 1999. Simply being related to someone does not make a family. The caring, sharing, and willingness to listen makes family.
Guest guest
We have 4 cats, one is a Tuxedo who's real name is " Little S**t " The vet records reflects his " other " name Nike. We also have two Grey Tabby's, and a giant Maine Coon that's 18 pounds. I build a cat enclosure off the back of the house so they can go out and get some fresh air without running the neighborhood. Guest guest
That's really great. I wish I had one of those so mine could go outside, but he has to be content with looking out the windows and the storm doors. I did put him a place to sit at the window in the family room so he can drool more. He's a Tiger and everyone thinks he's a girl because of the way LC sounds when you say it, but it really stands for Little Cat. He was just 9 pounds until about a year ago when he started putting on a little weight. He showed up on my deck in the middle of winter when he was about 6 months old, according to the vet. He is afraid of everything still so I'm sure he was abused. He is 9 years old now, He showed up right after my 20 year old cat died in my arms on the way to the Vets so I guess it was meant to be. Guest guest
When the weather is nice, I'll open the front door with the screen door locked and let the cats order the 2 legged lunches landing on the front lawn. They just sit there and do mock stalkings, chattering away.

Guest guest
That truth has a way of eventually coming out in all things, so it would be interesting to see if any of the claims have merit! My guess, though, is it works/is working for the person who wrote the book. Since one size doesn't fit all with this beast, that's fantastic but it might not help us! Oh well...... Guest guest
, You are correct in your statement about family. I know that I've decided to work through what was triggered the other day and not discuss it with my mom; she is a different person than she was then, you know? And she and my dad are paying for the smoking choices they made way back when. She has COPD and a touch of emphysema, he has coronary artery disease and went thru a triple bypass last February plus 2 addtl surgeries to put stents into lower extremities to recover his circulation. Yet as a family unit, my brother, sister and I, and our respective spouses (except my SIL who is a very cold person) were there for our folks during that time. My BIL would often have dinner ready when my mom got home from the hospital so she didn't have to worry about cooking (they live on the same property but not the same house). My sister would, if she could, go over and feed my folks' pets, again, so mom didn't have to. I drove her every day to and from the hospital. We had non-family members (friends) who made up a huge basket for us while he was in ICU (pens and paper, gum, snacks, money for parking, that kind of thing) and then when dad got home, they made enough pans of lasagna that we ALL got our own pan for our own hh, plus the salad and dessert! That's family. That's love and caring, you know? So while I am a big believer in not holding grudges and feel everyone should forgive those from their past so they can move forward, I don't think that if that forgiveness is given, they are automatically back in your life. Some people are too toxic to have around; too wrapped up in their life and their stuff to give a flying fig about the rest of the world. We don't need to be around folks like that at all. My 2 cents......it's the caffeine..... Darlene > > When my estranged parents hit the skids, my father was in ill health > from cigarette cancer, and my -3rd- stepmother was slammed with > Multiple Sclerosis when she was 38yrs old. > > I did what I could for them, I bought them a used car so they could go > to Dr appointments, gas, groceries, I spent the night several times > when my father's health was really bad. > > This is part of the reason my wife and I are in bankruptcy. > > In the end his excessive abuse burned the last bridge behind him and > the cancer he has worked so hard for all his life will finally take him. > > I had already spent enough of my years dealing with his > self-destructive behavior and I had a marriage and a new baby to > attend to. > > Neither of my two " Stoner " sisters helped out during this time, I > haven't seen one since the early 90's and the other since 1999. > > Simply being related to someone does not make a family. > > The caring, sharing, and willingness to listen makes family. >
Guest guest
With forgiveness comes change, when a unfaithful spouse or partner asks forgiveness you -can- forgive them. And can insist that they -stop- running around behind your back if that forgiveness is to take root and grow. My family has -never- asked for nor will take responsibility for their past and present actions. My older sister had two boys taken into state custody because of unspeakable abuse: Making a 4 year old drink an entire pitcher of beer. Having wild sex orgies in front of them to the point where it warped my nephews mind and while in daycare he climbed a tree took off all his clothes and told everyone to suck his D**k. What really cinched it was when my nephew went to the school nurse, and was found to have bruises and welts from a fresh beating. I've already told my wife that should my daughter receive any level of abuse, I -will- go to jail for what would happen afterwards. The list of what needs to be forgiven is long and gets grotesque, they haven't asked for it and I use the anger and pain to fuel my resolve to put a stop to it.
