They did check for gall stones because even without a gall bladder you can still get stones. That was negative. They didn't do x-rays they just did blood work, urine sample and ultrasound. I still hurt. Not as bad as this morning so maybe the massive morphine I got today is finally kicking in! lol in NM --------------------------------- Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Yahoo! Guest guest
Hi Diane, Are you still working as a paramedic? That sounds like great, but hard work. I am allergic to morphine too. It's written in RED all over my charts at my doctors' offices and when I've had surgery it's all over the charts there. Was even on a sign at the end of my hospital bed. Alter the last surgery I had when I was taken to the recovery room while I was still quite groggy, I felt the symptoms of a morphine reaction just starting and tried to scream, but it came out in a whisper, that I could tell I was having morphine in my IV and to stop. Thank God my daughter was standing right there and understood me and made the nurse stop. I only had a mild reaction because it got stopped right away. My blood pressure goes sky high and I start not being able to breathe. It feels like an anxiety attack coupled with an asthma attack. The doctors say I could die from it. Because I had started having a reaction I had to stay in the recovery room all night, instead of going back to my room, so they could monitor me all night. They kept waking me up to see if I was alright. I also had to stay in the hospital an extra day. ( I have to pay $500/day when I'm in the hospital. Needless to say I had to have it put on a payment plan.) My daughter said NO MORPHINE (in red) was written on a big card hanging from the arm of the IV pole and on the chart. Like you said - at the mercy of the care givers. Take care, Marti Nd paramedic_di@...> wrote: I hope you feel even better tommorow.
