Guest guest
My name is Heidi and I was recently diganosed with Fibro in December 2007. My sister has Fibro. She has suffered for years and told me that I probly have Fibro before Doctors finally diganosed me. So many feeling to deal with still now knowing I have Fibro. It helps to talk with my sister and she has guided me here to join others with Fibro. My sister has it so bad she can no longer work. I am a Dental Hygienist and work everyday in pain. I thought my worst nightmare as a dental hygienist would be to get carpul tunnel, never did I think of getting Fibro. I wonder how long before I am no longer can work and cry. My Family (Husband and Kids)are new at this stuff too. They notice when I am having bad painfull days and bad fibro-fog days. I am so glad that there is a family out there of fibro-mites to talk too. THANK-YOU FOR EXCEPTING ME. Heidi-Hygienist
Guest guest
Heidi, Welcome to the family here. You are completely accepted. This beast of an illness preys on millions of people. We have about 1500 of them here the last time I checked. No one should have to go through this without the support and understanding that only someone with fibro can have. And you mention your sister having it. Interesting, because they are thinking more and more that it is something hereditary. I have seen several here that talk about family members that also have it. I certainly understand the fear of not being able to work. I still work out of pure neccesity but I fear the day I cannot. My kids are still young. Welcome sweetie, Debra V. Guest guest
Welcome to the group, awareness is important in living with FM. The " newness " of the syndrome can seem to be overwhelming at times, your family fortunately is picking up on the symptoms. How to deal with FM is a journey with it's ups and down's, finding a middle ground that you can live with is an important step. Education is always a good starting point, even before seeing a doctor about the syndrome. The internet is a rich source of information, used book stores are another. Here at the house we turn an outing to the book store into a family day, since there is no rush in book shopping and can be a relaxing experience. Guest guest
Welcome Heidi, I'm sorry for your recent dx but am glad you found us. We are a supporting group of people and are glad you are joining us. Fibromyalgia is a truly misunderstood illness. I hope you find doctors who understand what it is and know how to treat it. Hopefully your sister has had good experiences and can guide you. I'm glad you have family who try to understand you. That really helps you get through the bad days I have some family who understand and others who don't or don't care to. I'm glad you are joining us. Just jump in anywhere something interests you. Take care, Marti " heidi.pipiras " heidi.pipiras@...> wrote: My name is Heidi and I was recently diganosed with Fibro in December 2007. My sister has Fibro. Guest guest
HI Heidi Welcome...it is surely hell working everyday in pain...a lot of us do it. I am so not looking forward to work tomorrow. I did some cleaning today, even though I wanted to stay on the couch or in bed...I'll probably pay for it tomorrow. Hugs, /Mi Hello, I'm new.
