Guest guest
Hi Krystal, I'm sorry to hear about your dx. It's a hard one to deal with I'm sure. There are a lot of people on both my mom's and dad's side of the family who have diabetes or have died from it or the complications it causes. Some have gone blind. This is all to say that my blood sugar is normal and always has been and I'm 59. I know I'm at risk to get diabetes because of my family history but I don't agree with the doctor who told you that you would get it no matter what. That is a pretty presumptuous thing to say to someone and causes needless worry. I wish that Fibro had an affect on blood tests. That way we would have some way of proving that we have it and then our lives would really change for the better. I hope you feel better. Was also told because I have such a high family history (Both on my moms side and dads side)that no matter what I do I am going to get diabetes anyways. Sometimes my sugar is high and sometimes it is low. Maybe it is the Fibro causing this I don't know but I have heard that Fibro effects your blood tests. They put me on Metformin 500mg and after I left that doctor I refused to take it anymore I gained a lot of weight from it and Damn there had a heart attack I was pushing 320. Having severe chest pains but no one knew what it was from except that my BP was 220/110 Such easy numbers to remember lol.
