Guest guest
Hi Debi, I hope they kicked in soon. I don't take Lyrica, but I do take hydrocodone. I have a script for 5mg 3X day or all at once depending on my day and my pain level. It doesn't knock out the pain, but it makes me be able to quit focusing on it and do something. Lately I take it all at once and it lasts for a few hours and that's my productive time. My pain waxes and wanes so some days I can stretch it out. I had terrible pain back in the late 80's with two ruptured discs in my neck, c 1 and c 2. When I lost the use of my hands and arms I had to have surgery. Those two disintegrated discs were removed and bone pieces (from my hip, but I wish now I had used a bone bank) and pins were put in instead. I have the use of my arms and hands with just a little neuropathy left over. My hip fared the worst because the orthopedic doctor who did the retrieval of bone (a neurologist did the neck surgery) went too deep. He didn't get the right size the first time and had to go back for more. He damaged my muscles and nerves that lead down to my leg and I have pain and some neuropathy from that. Went to PT for two years, because it was his fault it was free. I was never in better shape. Then the Fibro kicked me for a loop. This may be the trauma that is talked about that caused my Fibro or it could be left over trauma from my childhood. Anyway the surgery did wonders for my neck and arms. I know there are other people on higher doses than the 5 mg and maybe you need to be also. I'm afraid to approach the doctor about a higher dosage for fear he might take this one away. It is prescribed by my PCP. This is more answer than you asked for but I hope it helps. Take care, Marti DebiAC012553@... wrote: In a message dated 4/15/2008 8:43:34 A.M. Guest guest
It's amazing to hear how much each and everyone of us has been thru......I'm sorry that happened to you Marti I always feel like a freak when I go to a new dr. and have to fill out my medical/surgical history. They give you 3 lines for surgeries....I've had 20. Now I put, to many to list....haha and as far as dates???? Really? I have fibro fog...so no, no dates. I might be able to come within the correct year with a margin of error 3%. I need to be like Darlene and write it all down like a responsible person, but it changes so often I forget to update it and can't keep track of it all. At least now I know I'm not the only one who has an unbelievable medical history...... Jill Re: Good Morning group. Same old same old. SSDD Hi Debi, I hope they kicked in soon. Guest guest
WOW! again. 20 surgeries. That's really terrible. I'm sorry to hear you have had to go through all of that. I am disorganized now too. I used to be so organized and have a good system for keeping everything current, but now I don't even remember what it was. I was even overly organized - to a fault - my kids tell me. Now there's clutter on top of clutter and anywhere I lay something down, I eventually put something on top of it. Oh well, maybe I'll reach a happy medium one day.
