Guest guest
Debra, I have to agree with you. Especially when you say, how can we feel sorry for someone else, if we don't know how to feel sorry for ourselves. It's all just in how we handle our self pity. We don't need to burden others with it...not overly, at least. We can vent, but we don't need to run it into the ground. Love you, Debi-Ca. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Be a good e-mail buddy, and ALWAYS protect your friends from email address harvesters which can lead to more Spam, unwanted mail, and even viruses. Guest guest
Ok, I have thought this one out. It is OK to feel sorry for yourself. I can tell you right now that no one else will if you don't. And feeling sorry for yourself can be a productive thing also. It makes us seek ways to take care of ourselves. Society has always taught us " not to feel sorry for yourself " . BS. Why is it ok to feel sorry for others but not ourselves???? If you love yourself, you will feel sorry for yourself when you have a disease like this. You can try to hide it and you can pretend you don't feel sorry for yourself in order to look socially correct. I don't give a crap. YES, somedays I do feel sorry for myself and I am entitled to it. Just my thoughts, love and hugs, Debra V. __________________________________________________
Guest guest
You know - I have to embrace that Debra - I try not to - but dam there are some days when I DO feel sorry for myself. I feel sorry for myself that I have fibro, diabetes Type II, severe neuropathy in my legs and feet, pain in my shoulders, legs, arms and feet and to top it off, I'm too fat and I have a horrible time sleeping at night no matter what the %#*%* I seem to do and I KNOW sleep is what I need. And to top it off - I feel REALLY sorry for myself in that it's only me and I HAVE to drag my butt to work.... *sigh* there - I've ranted LOL Thanks for listening - not having a good day mentally! Guest guest
Amen . You see, it may be socially unaceptable to feel sorry for yourself. However, I will bet you feel sorry for alot of people who are ill. So what the hell is the problem with having some self pity. I do not mean by any statement here that we should wear this all on our sleeves and go around moping and whining to others. You don't have to say anything to anyone else about how you feel. But yes, some days I feel sorry for me. I am sorry that I got sick with fibro. I am sorry for myself that I still have to work with this dreaded disease. I feel sorry for myself that I have to feel like a truck hit me in the mornings. And I feel sorry for myself that this is an illness that makes me look like a hypochondriac and that people might label me as such. Love yourself. This is the first step. Also love others. I also feel sorry for others with this disease here and the host of other illnesses that many have. Though I know I am lucky in some respects. Just my thoughts.
