Guest guest
Thanks for a simple concrete suggestion (not like the - " UH,could be stress " . or " UHMUM maybe nutritional " or " quit pulling on you hair " , like whatI usualy hear). The hair loss is actualy very minor this time. I really don't want toet back to where I was before, when I couldn't touch it or lean back against a pilow or shower without losing handfulls. Peace Cassandra > > One of the B vitamins, called Biotin, is good for hair growth. It is pretty inexpensive if you buy just plain Biotin. I hope this might help a bit with the hair loss. Take care. > Jeanne in WI > >
Guest guest
I missed the first posting of this about hair loss. When I was 27, I'd just been through a serious emotional trauma. My youngest son, at the time, had just gotten out of the hospital. He'd had double pneumonia at 18 months. For weeks I couldn't eat, couldn't sleep, could barely drink anything and was losing my hair by the brush full. I worried I had some terrible disease, but was equally scared the doctor would put me in the hospital. I finally went in. The doctor was very concerned at the symptoms and how much I weighed, which scared the bejeebers out of me too, I weighed 86 pounds! That's scary at 27, and as the mother of 2! One week after that, I was diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. He prescribed a balanced diet, a multi-vitamin, and a little more relaxation. That was not simple. For one thing, I found out after that I'm highly allergic to five of the ingredients in most multivitamins. That sucks, by the way. Today, I still have serious problems with the chronic fatigue. I weigh 102 pounds, which is pretty small still for 5'1 " but the doctor told me that was better than 90 or under and my bone structure was enough of an allowance to give me reason to stay this small. I haven't been to a doctor in 10 years. I'm terrified of doctors, and only considered the visit back in 1997 because the doctor I had been seeing reminded me so much of the pediatrician I once adored. A. Guest guest
Ack! My hair IS falling out by the handfuls! I honestly thought it was because of all the steroids I had earlier this year and literally had it cut into a bob style to avoid more loss as the ends were straggling. I go see my endocrinologist on the 21st and will definitely be mentioning the hair loss to her because every other time has been due to my thyroid being " off " . What a mess!
