Guest guest
Our internet provider is MSN and on the opening page of it today, there is an interesting segment about the myths of people who are in pain becoming addicted and those who are using opids for whatever reason they do. In almost if not all areas that are discussed, the findings are that for people such as ourselves who do need Oxcontin, etc. for pain, the risks are very low. They quoted one article that had been published by one of the newspapers in a major Florida city in which a doctor had some how, according to the paper, provided drugs to an individual who as I remember it, had died. They had to retract the article and their glaring headline condemning the doctor, was because the individual that was the supposed " victum " of a doctor misprescribing meds was a known user of street drugs. I was going to see if I could find a way to post the article here, but am not certain how to do that. But if anyone can get to the opening page of MSN, it is in the upper right hand corner that will have several stories flashing past. Very good -- supposedly 3 pages, when I tried to print it all, I could only pull one page. But this is one more source that says we are not going to die from the pain meds --- but I think we could die with out them, though!
