Back Pain without a syrinx?

I have a 12mm hernation with no flow on the back and very little on

the front. One of the symptoms that bothers me the most is severe

back pain, mid-back and lower back. It is especially bad on

awakening. I have had a full back MRI which showed no syrinx.

Question is, can this pain be a result of the Chiari?
