Guest guest
I take 150 Lyrica twice a day. It does take your body time to get use to the meds before you get the full benefit. The sleepiness will go away with time, but if it helps you sleep in the meantime that is just gravy. Good luck to you. > Hi Jill, > I've been having some computer difficulties long with some other poblems > but to make a long story short, begining lyrica and increasing the dose will > make you tired untill your body adapts. Guest guest
Angie, The symptoms I had on Topomax I already have too. It just intensified it to they point where I wanted to die immediately. I haven't had many bad drug reactions either, so be careful. Luckily, some people do really well on Topomax so it may be great for you. And since you are aware of the side effects, if you do get them, you won't let it go on and on like I did. How long does the extreme fatigue last? I don't know if I can handle it. I literally can't wake up and feel like I am in a coma. I can't do anything. I fell like I'm going to fall asleep while I'm standing up and walking. I am bumping into walls. I have to pick my twins up from school and there is no way I can drive. Jill To Faith Brown... welcome I just read your post. How heartbreaking. It makes me want to cry just hearing of it. I am glad you are here honey. Please be patient. It is such a large group. I am sorry it took so long for me to get to it. I just started Lyrica today. I don't really know yet if it helps. I will let you know. hugs and a BIG WELCOME, Debra V. ------------ --------- --------- --- You rock. That's why Blockbuster' s offering you one month of Blockbuster Total Access, No Cost. Guest guest
My response to Lyrica is that it completely eliminated the neck pain (vertebrae turned, osteoarthritis, disk issues) I have had for 30 years. I've tried dozens of other meds, PT, chiropractors, massages, heat, ice, whatever. It's the first time that pain has been gone. That's enough right there for me. I do know it has helped the other pain too. Trust me, all I have to do is run out for a couple days and I'm begging for it back. Guest guest
Ok, Angie, I think you have convinced me that I need to see my doctor and ask for her thoughts on Lyrica. I told my husband earlier that I found the woman in the new commercial a bit hard to believe. But this these are good reports that I have just read!! > > My response to Lyrica is that it completely eliminated the neck pain (vertebrae turned, osteoarthritis, disk issues) I have had for 30 years. Guest guest
Hi all, Boy, I am so encouraged by what some are saying about the pain relief of Lyrica. Tomorrow I start on twice a day, so I hope I see some difference soon. I had a really good day today, except for my arthritis in my ankle. I guess I will have to go to the foot dr. and see if he will give me an injection of cortisone or something. Hugs to all, /Mi
Guest guest
Yes....that is what it is, but for some reason it works for Fibromyalgia & even Diabetes...but not for seizures. ??? Lyrica as I understand is something you have to keep constant in your system or it will not work. I can actually tell a difference on the Lyrica...I have been on it since Dec. I just got upped to 100mg 3x's per day. > > Hi, All. > > Regarding a lot of the posts about Lyrica, I think some of you are a bit confused on what it is and what it is used for. > > Lyrica is an Anti-seizure medication, NOT a " pain pill " . It's NOT type of pill that you take for times when you feel worse now and then or just during a " flare " . > > It has been found to relieve some of the symptom of Peripheral Neuropathic pain that some people with Fibro have. > > Here are a couple of sites at the Mayo that explain it. > > Lyrica: > http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/drug-information/DR601627 > > Peripheral neuropathy: > http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/peripheral-neuropathy/DS00131 > > Here's how it helped me: > I used to feel numbness and tingling in my hands and feet with occasional " electric shocks " that would send me through the roof. My skin used to feel like it was on FIRE, also. The Lyrica has helped relieve those symptoms for me. I have worked up to 300 mg. a day and that seems like the appropriate amount for ME. Every one is different. > > Anyway, I hope this clarifies the use of Lyrica for Fibro for those of you who are wondering. > > Take care. > J in East Northcentral Minnesota > http://sisypheanranch.blogspot.com/ > 'Life isn't about how to survive the storm, but how to dance in the rain.' > >
