Darlene,

It sounds like a lovely service. Hopefully your dad can grieve and move on as

well as the rest of you. That is very sad when they wind up like that, as you

say, he is in a much better place now.

Hugs,

/Mi

Re: [Darlene/to /MI

,

It ended up being a beautiful service. We opted for graveside vs.

viewing because that wasn't my grandpa. He was a month shy of being

100, but in truth, he had no quality of life - he had end-stage

dementia, had to be spoon fed and all that, so this was a blessing. His

passing was very peaceful (I was there as were a great deal of the rest

of the family - he had his son who is my dad, grandchildren and great-

grands there to see him " go home " ). The hardest part was my dad cried

while he spoke about his dad. Because my dad is such a strong person

and the last 18 months have been extremely stressful for him and us as

a family - he's lost his brother, a sister and now his dad, plus he had

triple bypass surgery and 3 stents installed and a valve repair just

last year. So it's been a stressful time, but we know grandpa is at

peace at last and we have joy in that. Thank you for your prayers; we

can always tell when we are covered in them, you know?

Darlene
