Guest guest
, It ended up being a beautiful service. We opted for graveside vs. viewing because that wasn't my grandpa. He was a month shy of being 100, but in truth, he had no quality of life - he had end-stage dementia, had to be spoon fed and all that, so this was a blessing. His passing was very peaceful (I was there as were a great deal of the rest of the family - he had his son who is my dad, grandchildren and great- grands there to see him " go home " ). The hardest part was my dad cried while he spoke about his dad. Because my dad is such a strong person and the last 18 months have been extremely stressful for him and us as a family - he's lost his brother, a sister and now his dad, plus he had triple bypass surgery and 3 stents installed and a valve repair just last year. So it's been a stressful time, but we know grandpa is at peace at last and we have joy in that. Thank you for your prayers; we can always tell when we are covered in them, you know?
