Zithromax is a substitute for the antibiotic Penicillin which is not know for it's rosey aftermath, and is most likely the source of the change in your urine smell. The smell can vary between sulfur, mold, or even a night of the living dead toilet. > PS This has nothing to do with the Mothership Since this is outside of my gender, I assume you are talking about: " The rents due " " I'm riding the crimson wave " " Mother Nature is visiting "
Guest guest
If this seriously puzzles you, talk to your doctor about it. It was one of my symptoms before I got my surgery. If you don't need a referral, go to a urologist. Perhaps there's an explanation of some sort. It seems if you are drinking that much water, etc. it shouldn't still smell bad. So talk to your doctor. Guest guest
You could have (and likely it is the case) developed a secondary bladder/kidney and or yeast infection because this particular antibiotic is good for that (says someone who has been on it frequently). I just took my 5th day tablet for a sinus infection and while I'm not noticing the malodorous urine, I have developed a yeast infection right at my bra line (and at my size, I cannot go without). So I placed an order for a diflucan (I have multiple refills...lol) and also for some more nystatin cream (I think I have 1 more refill of that) as my tube is nearly out. Check with your doctor; two rounds of it have likely given you a doozy of a secondary infection which will only go away with something like macrobid or bactrim. Aren't we fun????? Guest guest
, how right you are. There are some antibiotics that stink so bad! And also I will mention the couple of times I took a really powerful antibiotic called Biaxin. That stuff leaves a metallic taste in your mouth to where you taste it all the while you are on it. It is horrible. A great antibiotic. It made me think " well, it is either going to kill me or the bacteria one " . LOL. And I have noticed alot of patients on antibiotics will have horrible smelling urine and the bowel movements will be extra pungent to the smell. Ok,,,, but I must add that a urinary tract infection can also make your pee stink to high heaven. hugs, Debra V. Subject: Re: Why does my pee smell bad? Are you diabetic? Some antibiotics affect the absorption of diabetes meds. Have you tested your blood sugar? If you're not a diagnosed diabetic, can you get some urine test strips to see if you're excreting ketones, or sugar in your urine? 2. Kidney function? Some antibiotics can affect kidney function. 3. Drug interactions? Call doc or pharmacy to ask. Have your meds and supplement list ready. You need to talk to your doc about this in any case. I'm assuming you're eating yogurt and/or taking acidopholous since you're on antibiotics, because the antibiotics wipe out the " normal " flora in the bowel, and the yogurt/acidopholous helps to replenish it. The smell could come from the antibiotic, I know that ampicillin makes the pee smell bad or you could still have a UTI, if that is what you are being treated for or if not, then you need to be checked for that. I know that when I get a UTI, my pee smells like fish. Love and gentle hugs, Debi/55-CA **************Need a new ride? Check out the largest site for U.S. used car listings at AOL Autos.
