Do you have ADHD or are you trying to manage fatigue? I've been taking Provigil

and Phentermine. You are not supposed to take them on the same day, but I take

1/2 Provigil in the morning and a whole Phentermine around 11:00 a.m.

Phentermine is actually an appetite suppressent, but helps with fatigue and even

some pain in people with fibro. My son just started Concerta for ADHD and it

keeps him up late. Is it making you sleepy? Have you tried Provigil? I don't

think it's a cure all, but I have major adrenal fatigue (like many fibro's) and

the stimulants make that worse. Provigil isn't supposed to be as hard on the

body. I'm tempted to try a stimulant, but I'm afraid it will make me worse in

the long run. I did take ritalin a few years ago, but it just made me shake and

feel like throwing up.

Jeanne's reply to Jill

I went off my AdderallXR 8 days ago. We had hoped that the XR formula would be

better than the short acting, but it didn't make much diffeence with the side

effects.

Now today is day one on Concerta, another med for ADHD, to try to help my

fatigue. First warning on the med sheet is may cause drowsiness. LOL! We are

trying this type of med, hoping the side effects will be easier on me than the

plain stimulants. Time will tell. Today I feel like it is giving me ADHD. Hard

to focus on anything for very long. I want to sleep, but can't. I'm thinking

positively that tomorrow will be better. Thank you for asking.

I'm sorry if I didn't notice you were gone in the past. I think one problem is

that we are getting so many new members it is difficult to remember everyone.

And when our minds are all foggy that makes it worse.

Hey, welcome to all the newbies.

We have missed you both.......but I know how you could feel that way. I have

felt that way a couple times, too. When I was in a crisis mode over my fibro a

couple of weeks ago, no one really responded. I just think everyone is so

overwhelmed with their own issues and keeping up on here is difficult. I come on

here when I'm not feeling well since i have a lap top and can curl up in my bed.

But, many people have to sit in front of their computer....I know I can't even

do that for 5 minutes.

Jeanne, Med changes just make fibro even harder to deal with so I understand

and am sorry. Is your increase in fatigue do to the meds or another flare? What

meds did you change? Do you think they will help you? Let us know what's going

on!

Missed You Both,

Jill

It's for the fatigue. I have tried Provigil, and liked it. I could handle 200

mg. a day, but it wasn't enough of an energy boost, and 400 mg. didn't seem to

go as well in regards to side effects. If none of these others work out, I will

probably go back to the 200 mg. of Provigil a day. We also talked about a new

stimulant that starts with a V (Vynase?), but it's not approved for adults yet,

only teens. I figured my insurance wouldn't approve it.

The Concerta is just messing me up today. I'm only taking 18 mg. in the

morning. Like I said, I want to sleep, but doesn't feel like I can, but that

was earlier. It is short-acting, so I might nap this afternoon.
