Guest guest
Hi Patti, I have only been on the Lyrica for a few weeks and so I can't answer that as yet. I'm sure we will have others chiming in with advice and answers!! Hugs, /Mi Another Lyrica question... Hi all...this question has probably been answered before but I wasn't on the med so I may have passed it by. My doctor now wants to put me on Lyrica. I have been hesitant to take it because of one of the big side affects, which is weight gain. My question is...has anyone really experienced that problem? I have a great fear that I would gain alot of weight. For now I am on many different meds. But the dr feels this might be the best to try now. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Guest guest
-Patty- I have been on lyrica for almost two months now. And what I have noticed is nothing. I did however gain weight..right before I was diagnosed with FM, but not since I have been on Lyrica. I am sure my weight gain was due to the lack of sleep, the pain..and those two things kept me from going about my daily activities as I was doing prior to them. Is hard to walk, hike..and just do much of anything when you are too tired, or hurting too much, or too stiff to move. since I have been on lyrica and I am better able to withstand the pains, and sleep some better, I have actually lost about 7 pounds. But..from reading the posts here..I can see how everybody reacts differently to most meds, so what is happening with me, may not be the way it is for many others. Hope this helps, and you do at least try it. It does help make the every day days more tolerable, and..helps me get thru those flares that I wasn't sure I could get through. ~T~ -- In Fibromyalgia_Support_Group , " raceangel62 " wrote: > > Hi all...this question has probably been answered before but I wasn't > on the med so I may have passed it by. > > My doctor now wants to put me on Lyrica. Guest guest
Hi Patti I have been on lyrica for about 18 months and originally was on neurontin but my PM switched me to lyrica. I did gain weight, approximately about 15 lb. I have however found that my appetite increased so some of this might be due to snack eating. My advise is take it, try to keep as mobile as you can on the good days and if you get the munchies then eat carrots or other stuff that is a little more healthy. I have put up with the weight gain as for me lyrica is the best thing i have had so far for the neuropathy etc. Hope it helps Meachelle From: magicaldream411 Sent: Saturday, April 12, 2008 3:26 AM To: Fibromyalgia_Support_Group Subject: Re: Another Lyrica question... -Patty- I have been on lyrica for almost two months now.
