Guest guest
You'd have to try it and see. I don't believe it is as strong as Darvocet, but I don't remember ever having Darvocet myself. Since we all react differently, you'd have to try and see how it did for you. There are warnings about taking tramadol with most anti-d's. So that's another factor to consider. I have no other choice for pain relief unless I switch to narcotics, so for now, I take both meds and keep an eye out for seratonin syndrome. Jeanne in WI Jeanne, It could have been toradol...lol...I was in so much pain, I might not have heard correctly! I wonder though if tramadol would help me some with the break-thru pain; I don't want to take darvocet all the time! Darlene
Guest guest
I was force-fed Darvocet for years,it never helped. Tramadol works better..but it needs to be stronger. Guest guest
Okay, maybe a dumb question on my part but is tramadol the same as ultram? If so, I was given that after an accident for my back pain and it worked wonderfully! Oh and Jeanne? I got my medical records and it was toradol they gave me. No wonder I went out like a light, huh? Guest guest
Yes, tramadol is the generic name, Ultram is brand name. You can take 100 mg. of tramadol at a time, but not all docs will prescribe that way. Mine doesn't, but since I don't need it all the time, so far, I have plenty to get through a month. Yeah, that IV toradol is great. I was told by other FM'ers to ask for this after my gastric bypass surgery, that it would help with the all over FM pain following the trauma of surgery. It did help quite a bit, but they only gave it to me for a day or day and a half, and of course my back was still killing me by the end of the hospital stay.
