Guest guest
Hi Jen! You need to see the dr. so you can start treating your issues and bring you some relief! I know it's scary, but if you have fibro, it won't go away by not seeing a dr.. Also, you need a referral to see a pain specialist. And there are lots of meds out there that could help you! So, take a deep breath and make the appt. We have all been discussing mattresses and mattress toppers the past week. I really like the mattress topper that Costco sells. I had it on my grandmothers bed who had severe pain issues and it really helped her. Now I have one on each of my children's beds. They are extremely comfortable. Another member, from AZ, just bought one so maybe she'll tell you how it's working for her. I think she put it on her bed last night. So, hopefully she had a great nights sleep! Jill Intro and request for some tips Hello all!! My name is Jenn and I live in KY. I'm 33 years old. I feel like I'm 70. I do not know yet if I have Fibromyalgia, but my grandmother on dad's side had it. My mother has muscular Lupus and my aunts have/had Systemic Lupus. I am planning to call and set up an appointment with a doctor today and I am scared. I want to put it off, but I know thats not going to get me any closer to some answers and help. I haven't seen a doctor in several years as I do not have insurance. The doc I think I will see is my mothers doctor, so I think he will listen to me, plus he has the family history at least on mom's side. ;^) I wonder if I should just go to a pain clinic because right now I think I could use a big fat shot of morphine into my neck. I was wondering if any of you have used mattress tops to help with the pain? I mean I wake up every morning in so much pain in my shoulders and neck. It didnt used to be this way but it is steadily getting worse. Is there anything you use that has helped? Thanks for letting me in to the group, and thanks in advance for any advice! Guest guest
Hello, Jenn. Try not to be scared. Having a diagnosis is the first step to getting treatment and then relief from the symptoms. At least the doctor has experience with Fibro because of your Mom. That's probably a good thing. As for mattress toppers, I have three 4-inch memory foam toppers on a wooden platform as a mattress...Works great...No pressure on my pressure points. Take care.
