Guest guest
I just now read your introduction. Welcome to the group. I know exactly what you mean about trying to explain fibro and people not understanding or just plain old not believing. It seems like I am in the same boat sometimes. If I complain about the pain and exhaustion people think " It must not be that bad " ... or " I just don't believe it " . If I don't complain, then they think " she must not be sick with anything " . To complain can make me sound like a hypochondriac.... to NOT complain simply makes them think there is nothing wrong. It is a daily battle we fight. YES.... it affects every aspect of our lives. You hit the nail on the head. It affects me with pain, fatigue, it comes with a sleep disorder that makes us feel like we never slept when we wake up, it interferes with memory and concentration with the fibro fog, It takes away the things we want to do and erases who we USE to be. It is with me when I sleep and when I wake up in the morning with stiffness so bad that at times I can hardly get out of bed. On and On... etc. I don't know the answers for us, but I know we have a group of people here with over 1000 memebers who suffer the same symptoms and problems. This illness affects an estimated 10 million people in the U.S. alone. Yet it is still not understood completely by research, and continues to have a social stigma attaced to it. Welcome to the group. hugs, Debra V. (East TX) __________________________________________________
