Hi all,

It's been another painful day and I'm feeling pretty bad and nausea is still

with me at times. My hands feet and eyelids are more swollen everyday. I'm

retaining fluids I guess. I went to my primary care doctor today and had a

bunch of tests done. And I will have a chest xray tomorrow. And once again

they'll probably say nothing is wrong. Of course I don't want anything to be

wrong so that would be a good thing. But I would just like to know what to do to

get rid of it.

So why are my hands and feet (bottom of feet) hurting and swollen? My hands

seem more swollen but bottom of feet press in and you can see the fluid? I've

seen a lot worse but it really is bothering me. OK I'll the try the positive

outlook that they'll finally find out why I feel so badly and don't seem to be

recovering well from this last surgery. Its only been a couple of months but

I'm really ready to feel like I'm getting better.

Also I am so stiff that I can hardly walk after sitting for a few minutes. And

my legs feel so weak. I feel like I'm 90 years old the way I walk around. And

I'm so hoarse which I assume is because of the neck surgery. And I'm so weak

and fatigued.

Thanks for letting me complain. I needed to get it out. I wish you all the

best.

Love,

Maureen

Hi Donna,

From my experience, it could be two things, too much HC or not enough potassium.

For me, it doesn't matter what my serum or RBC potassium levels are, I still

need lots of extra. Potassium is excreted really fast when kidneys are healthy

and take out the water. Best diuretic there is, in my estimation.

assume is edema. I am on T3 only since May first and have been feeling good.

This is really bothering me though, anybody have any ideas on how to help this

issue?

When you say 'pockets of fluid on my legs', do you mean that funny looking pad

just below the knee, from the midline to the inside of the calf? If so, I read

that it was a symptom of hypothyroidism... I just hate it... and the only time I

didn't have it was when I was on 45 + mg of HC, Armour and Cytomel, and was

walking every day and doing power yoga 3-4 times a week. I liked my legs, but of

course, I pushed myself into an adrenal crash and am just coming out of it a

year and a half later... still, I'm curious if that's what you're talking

about, and if there's a way to get rid of it..

thanks,

Hi ,

Yes, I do have it there, but if I pinch my skin, even on the outer part of my

calf, I see bumps, I guess like cellulite, but I really never had this problem

before. It looks like fluid nodules, some small ones and bigger ones. I do have

Graves, Post RAI, on 10/2008. My TPO antibodies were really high last blood

work, 567, with a range of <30. I am thinking it has something to do with that.

Not sure, wish I could figure this out!

I think what she is talking about is actual gel-like lumps under the skin. I have this on my arms, upper and lower and on my legs. What YOU are talking, I also have, I think. I have this large lump on the inside of my knees. I mean I can grab this lump and it fits the palm of my hand. You are saying this is hypothyroidism. I find that discouraging because I have started riding a stationary bike to get rid of it. This sounds that it will be a waste of time as far as my knees are concerned.VeniziaSubject: Re: EdemaTo: RT3_T3 Date: Wednesday, July 21,
