Guest guest
HI I had been taking the psych med Seroquel for over a year when I started to gain alot of weight, specificaly belly fat. At that time I was tested in the drs ofice for blood sugar and it was high. She sent me for blood tests including a complete metabolic panel, thryroid function (I have hypothroid and she wanted to see if I was stable on medication or had it gone wacky) and A1c (another blood sugar test) there was a couple of other thing she tested for also but I don't remember what. She explained to me that she was checking to see if I had developed metabolic syndrome which includes, but is not limited to, trouble with blood sugar. I don't know what the other triggers for Metabolic syndrome are. For me it was defiately the Seroquel. I was Type 2 diabetic at that point and throid function was al over the place, also I lost alot of hair. I've been off Seroquel completely for over a year and nowmy blood sugars test normal consistently. I get my thyroid functin tested several times a year and it has been consistent on the same dose of medication. So I no longer have metabolic syndrome. Yeah for me (Good Body. Thank You.)
