Hi Debra,

I'm sorry about your " friend " . I've had a few friends like that in my

life, too. Trust me, you would be better off without her. Friends

support you, stand by you, and believe in you. Fibro is a part of who

you are, a big part.

Anyway, I'm sorry that she showed her true colors. Take care and

have a wondeful Mother's Day!

Gentle Hugs,

Kristi

course, within the first few days I met her she told me that she " use

to have a friend with fibro and got tired of being around her because

she just wanted people to feel sorry for her and was taking oxycontin

and could not even stay awake " . Ok... first of all it pissed me

off. Then I just decided that I would just go on and try to be

friends with her because I am never going to ask her for anything for

my fibro anyway. Second of all, I got to thinking that people with

fibro in its worst stages are sleep deprived and maybe the oxycontin

was not making the woman fall asleep... maybe it was sleep

deprivation.

asks me about fibromyalgia or asks how I am feeling. SILENCE speaks

volumes.

something she HAD to ask about work.

Debra, I'm sorry about the so called friend. You're right silence speaks

volumes, doesn't it?? Hang in there, sweetie, we care.

Love,

The " friend " at work- Friends??????

I made what I thought was friends with this nurse at work. Of course, within

the first few days I met her she told me that she " use to have a friend with

fibro and got tired of being around her because she just wanted people to feel

sorry for her and was taking oxycontin and could not even stay awake " . Ok...

first of all it pissed me off. Then I just decided that I would just go on and

try to be friends with her because I am never going to ask her for anything for

my fibro anyway. Second of all, I got to thinking that people with fibro in its

worst stages are sleep deprived and maybe the oxycontin was not making the woman

fall asleep... maybe it was sleep deprivation.

Now this person always stays completely silent when anyone at work asks me

about fibromyalgia or asks how I am feeling. SILENCE speaks volumes.

The other day I sent my boss the poem I wrote titled " The Rain is Moving In "

and my boss came to the nurses station and hugged me and told me it was

beautiful and almost made her cry. Now... the " friend " was standing there and

changed the subject quickly to something she HAD to ask about work.

I am realizing that this person is not the friend I thought she was. If you

have a " friend " you care about what is going on with them. And a " friend " would

believe you.

Just some frustrations....

love to the group,

Debra V.

I take NO pain meds except Tylenol during the day. I am now taking 1/2

flexeril at night with some Lyrica (also new). If I sit for even short

periods of time I want to sleep - and this was before the flexeril &

Lyrica. My chiropractor wanted me to go for a sleep study, but my doctor

poo-poo'ed that idea and wouldn't set it up.

In the car is the worst - 15 minutes of riding and I'm out unless I find

something to do. If I'm driving I either play a CD and make my self sing

along, or sing along with the radio to stay awake. (This is probably best

done when I'm driving alone. Ha!)

The point is FIBRO PEOPLE ARE TIRED. REALLY REALLY TIRES. Sleep apnea is

probably another one of our symptoms, just like the IBS and other stuff.

Wishing y'all a less-pain happy day,

in Louisiana
