Guest guest
Marti, I'm coming in late (as usual...lol) on this convo but read where back when you were dx'd they didn't have anything to fit your features. I switched from a cpap to a bi-pap machine and from a nasal mask to nasal pillows (which sound gross but really work). I had to get the " petite " size as the small were um, too big! So they've come a long way equipment-wise and my DME provider has worked with me to make sure I'm comfortable so as to increase my compliance. OH and my machine has a built-in humidifier so I don't wake up dry mouthed or having a sore throat. I HAVE noticed over the past week or so that the longer I can sleep with my machine on, the less sore I am if that makes sense. The achiness of this lovely disease is there, but it's almost as if it is behind a curtain instead of a skin-blanket, if that makes any sense? I also think that the neurontin has gotten into my system and I am taking the tylenol arthritis at the same time, as well as robaxin. I'm still stiff if I sit too long and when I first get out of bed....lol.....but its not as bad as it has been. Plus, I get to see my new rheumy on Wednesday! Woohoo!!! I don't want to be drugged up, just have the necessary stuff to take if the pain gets out of hand. Anyhow, hope that helps with the sleep apnea stuff. They make stuff for folks like us that have smaller features! There wasn't a face > mask that was small enough to fit my features without letting air > escape, which of course negates the use of it.
