Guest guest
Does anyone else have this problem? Lastnight was the worse night so far. My left knee locked and woke me up and the pain was unbareable. I tried to roll my whole body over and if I just barely moved my leg the pain would shoot up and down my leg. It took me around 1/2 hour to just be able to move my leg off of the bed so I could try to work it out. I tried to rub it and just touching it hurt. I have had this happen a few times before but nothing like lastnight. I heard something downstairs so I got out of bed and walked downstairs and it took me like 2-3 minutes to just walk down 6 steps and then to walk but up them took me even longer because the pain was so horrible. I got back into bed and I was able to start bending my leg so I was working it out that way. Now when I woke up this morning, this happened about 2:30am, I woke up at 5:30am and it didn't hurt at all. I couldn't even tell anything had happened. I have a slight charlie horse in my left calf but not enough to really hurt but I feel it when I walk. I don't know if this is from the knee locking in the middle of the night or from something else. I have had pain for 2 1/2 years but just recently, about 6 months ago, was told that I have fibro so I am still learning and still finding new places that hurt. Both of my feet are so tender that I try not to wear socks because just the sock touching my foot hurts. I don't leave the house much because that means I have to wear shoes and putting those on is like cutting a foot off, it hurts so bad. I am so grateful I found this group, now I have people to talk to that know what I am going through and don't think " it is all in my head " or " I'm making it up to get attention " , that one made me mad when someone said that to me. You are all wonderful people and I look forward to talking to you more often. My Yahoo! Messenger name is jant6886 if anyone wants to add me to their messenger. Guest guest
I have this happen all the time but I had alot of tests done the first time it happend and was told I have contomyligia in both legs (the tissue under my knee caps is disolving). The best thing I can tell you to do is to goto a medical supply store and buy a knee brace that has the springs on the sides it give support when it locks up till it will unlock. If you have a good doctor most insurance will pay for them if your doctor will write you a script.
Guest guest
Hi , I have had my knee lock up on occasion. But it has always been when it was bent and I was sitting down or getting into bed....unbelievable pain. I get a grip on myself and straighten my leg and it sort of pops and the pain stops. I honestly don't know what the deal is...I don't believe mine is fibro related. I try to remember not to put my knee in that position....hope it doesn't happen again!! Hugs, Knees lock at night. Though undiagnosed, I am positive that I have this condition. For 15 years I walked an average of 8-9 miles a day up and down stairs, across uneven terrain in the private security industry. The knee braces were the only thing that brought me any relief. The one step out my front door just kills me, and is probably the only thing that makes me utter obscene language.
