I don't know if I ever told you guys this story because I was having internet

connection issues at the time. Besides, it wasn't really a fibro story. But

since we are sort of talking about reflux and GERD issues I will share it. Some

of you will remember that I went to Malibu and San Diego for spring break with

my friend and all our kids, etc. Well, as you may have already guessed, I ran

out of my reflux medication while we were in San Diego. I didn't think much

about it. I'd never had any serious issues, I'd mostly started taking it to

handle a nagging cough. OK so a couple days later I'm not feeling so well, in

the stomach. I start going to the bathroom more frequently than is normal for

me.

Of course that's the night my friend decides we should go to an authentic

mexican restaurant that's 3 blocks from the border. OK, I lived most my life in

So Calif, shouldn't be an issue for me. Ok so he can't understand a lick of

spanish and as we were driving down the street he just pulls into the first

place he sees. He totally misses that its a mexican seafood restaurant. We go

in there and they have 101 seafood dished and maybe a handful of other things.

Generally, I like seafood. But when your stomach is queasy, it tells you what

it does NOT feel like that day. Oh and there is a LIVE mariachi band just 2

tables away, the place is packed so I have to really weave through chairs to get

to the bathroom. The best I could do with the menu was Carni Asada tacos. I

got them down and made only 2 trips to the bathroom.

Now when we camp, in the RV, I generally don't like to do that sort of business

in the RV bathroom. There's just not that much privacy. So I usually go to the

campground bathroom. Yeah, I'm weird. But I can accept that. I get up in the

middle of the night to go to the bathroom and the ladder for me to get down from

my bed is out of reach!!!! Fortunately, I didn't " HAVE " to go.

OMG but the nightmares I had that night. It was like nightmare on elm street.

People were trying to kill me. I was being chased, shot at, stabbed, you name

it. It went on all night. I don't think I ever had such nightmares. Oh and

the stomach ache was unbelievable. It was heartburn everywhere. I didn't know

it could get so " big " . I honestly thought I was going to wind up in ER before

the night was through. I did the cold sweats thing and everything. I won't

forget to refill that again soon!
