Guest guest
I could not agree more. It is pitiful. While they are putting info out there, it is unrealistic. It does not go into the details at all and describe the horrors of this disease. No mention of the over exhaustion so bad you can hardly take a shower some days. No mention of the people that are bedbound from it and have lost their jobs, their homes, and in some cases their relationships and friends. No mention of the terrible brain fog that makes it so hard to concentrate and affects our memory as well. No mention of the lovely little sleep disorder that the fibro package comes with. No mention of the numbness and tingling we feel sometimes. No mention of the muscle spasms. No mention of the pain that is burning and torturous to some of us. No mention of how bad the stiffness is at times to where we can't get out of bed without contorting our bodies in some odd way to get up. (or the ones that can't get up at all some days). It also insinuates that Lyrica is the cure for all of us. It is like " here, these people have this mild pain and we have a solution " .... It portrays it as mild and only a slight inconvenience. It pissed me off too. Even though Lyrica has helped me alot, the commercial only serves to lead people to believe it is simple. No mention of the life altering affects of fibro. Jeeezzzz, I guess I just got pissed off now. Hmmmmmm, you think? Well, sorry for the ranting. hugs, Debra V. (Yea right) Commercials have a set formula: 1. They use actors, not real people. 2. The story line and scenes are all scripted. 3. All your problems can be solved with just one little pill. 4. Lyrica is making these commercials with one goal in mind -Profit- Real people with real Fibromyalgia can see right through these ad campaigns as being absurd in the portrayl of the typical FM sufferer. Reliable, hard facts are being shared by the Fibromyalgia community and on this board. Since everyone is different, Lyrica may work for some and not for others. These kind of " dorky " commercials are a form of stereotye where the general public is fed misinformation on Fibromyalgia. --------------------------------- You rock.
