Is that unethical or just plain weird? > This is just my two cents on the scenario, when it comes to my health and what I need in the manner of treatment, the above scenario would not fly. To be refused a second opinion would be grounds for a confrontation from me, remember that you hired the doctor to care for your health. Doctors can be fired when they are not or do not measure up to our individual standards of treatment. If you are seeing a doctor and entrusting your health to them, and you percieve that they are not showing a genuine interest in helping you get better,...find another one who is. The second part about you were refered to her husband (?) for further treatment. The first thing that comes to mind is the quality of treatment or lack thereof you have already recieved, and being refered to a " family member " perticularly a spouse is an automatic red flag warning. That kind of referal would also warrant a confrontation in the form of a firm " No " . It also sounds like she wants to keep the health insurance money coming into the " family " business. Keep in mind that you do have control over who you see and what treatments you decide to have. We are not string puppets in the hands of doctors. Be firm when you are sure you are not being taken care of, the medical profession is a business. It's time for a Xannex, " weenie " doctors manage to get me worked up. Guest guest
They don't believe fibromyalgia exists.... it's that simple. They are in cahoots with each other and they just let you waste money on the spouses appt because she knew he would not help you. It is like a sick joke if you ask me. hugs, Debra V. wenzdai wenzdai@...> wrote: I am really having a hard time. I hurt all over and feel ill physicaly and emotionaly. I disagreed with the " Pain Specialist " who said I have Chronic Pain Syndrome and need a Pain Psychologist. I know I repeat myself. The primary care physician was really, really mean to me (I just cannot repeat everything she said and did) then she refused to refer me to the rheumatologist for a 2nd opinion. Oh and the Pain Specialist is her husband, which she never told me. Is that unethical or just plain weird? __________________________________________________
