How to ask for pain medication

I may have asked this before, my brain is not always working.

I went to see my PCP last week and he gave me an RX for Demerol.

It has worked well in the past but not this time. I was taking

percocet that we awesome, but it made me itch sooooo bad. I have an

appt with a pain management doctor on Monday but only for a consult.

I have a feeling he will not do anything and want me to come back in.

My headaches and rib cage are killing me. I am thinking about calling

my PCP but I am afraid. I had really bad headaches years ago and went

to the ER. The doctor accused me of looking for a fix. Ummm.... My

parents and husband were right there. So, ever since then I have been

afraid to ask thinking I will be accused of being a dope fiend.

It just sucks that there is no test that can prove FM or the amount of

pain you are in. It is so subjective in nature.
