Guest guest
and Tigger, I just wanted to let you both know that I am so sorry for what happened to you when seeking medical help. Ah, I know exactly how it feels to be in pain and receive no medical assist. I guess both of those facilities need to close down if they don't want to provide urgent care. Sheesh! I've also had the urgent care 'experience'. When I fell last fall and broke two ribs, I went to an urgent care facility, thinking the pain I was in fell into the 'urgent' category. Thinking I would be a good patient, I took a written list of my medical conditions and my meds and dosages, so that the doc, who wouldn't have had that information from my chart, wouldn't prescribe something dangerous for me, that would interact with one of my other meds. I swear, I think he was labeling me as 'drug seeking'. Here's why: I fell and hit a corner of a stainless steel railing. Not a large area of abrasion or bruising when one's full body weight is taken on one small right-angle of steel, so only one small bruise. Well, duh, this doc kept talking about my scoliosis. I reiterated to him that I was NOT there for scoliosis. Then he wanted to know more about my lung disease. I reiterated to him that I was NOT there for treatment for my lung disease. I again told him I fell and hit my back and at least one rib was broken, as I could feel it moving when I drew breath. This doc was willing to give me 5 days worth of Torodol, nothing more, despite the fact that broken ribs call for pain relief for a month or so, per current medical guidelines. It took the numnuts doc 2 weeks and several calls from me to finally inform me (surprise!) that I indeed had broken two ribs! Well duh, I diagnosed myself without that xray, and still couldn't get proper treatment. So, I'm not going to give total medical information in urgent care ever again until I have the prescription in my chubby little prednisone-inflated hands! Only then will I ask the doc if the meds will interact with my other meds. So there, you idiot docs who use women in pain for medical 'practice'! girlsaylor
