Guest guest
Yeah, this happens to me all the time. And scares the daylights outta me!! LOL Anyone know why this happens?? ~Tina in NC~ Jeanne and Dave djgraves9497@...> wrote: The same thing happens to me during the day when I lie down for a nap. Either my leg will jerk, or my whole torso which feels like my whole body does. Scares the crap out of me because I'm drifting off to sleep, and then the jerk comes out of nowhere. Now at bedtime this doesn't happen so much. Must be because of the muscle relaxers I take at bedtime. Jeanne in WI My muscles twitch but it's mainly when I am trying to relax and sleep. It's a horrible feeling to just be laying there and all of a sudden you have a bad jerk in your body. Debra B
Guest guest
I think I learned in HS science that a build up of lactic acid in the muscles causes these body jerks at bedtime or when we try to relax, for anyone. I don't know if that is the same reason for those of us with FM. Jeanne in WI Yeah, this happens to me all the time. And scares the daylights outta me!! Guest guest
The twitching is called fasciculations ( can read more about it here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fasciculation or of course google it). I take Baclofen for mine which is effective but i do still have it to a certain degree along with the muscle jerking and the whole body twitching. Strange how most of us have common weird symptoms like this. From: Jeanne and Dave Sent: Sunday, April 20, 2008 12:36 PM To: Fibromyalgia_Support_Group Subject: Re: jerking muscles--OMG me too!
