Guest guest
I undertand completely, Joe. In the year since I was diagnosised, I have tried to learn as much as I can about things that mimic Fibro. I am going to make an apointment with my doctor to talk about some hormone and vitamin deficiancy tests as a last diagnostic effort. I just to make sure that my condition isn't " fixable " . I've already been treated for a vitamin D deficiency, so maybe I have more. If all my tests come back normal, then I guess I will finally accept the fibro diagnosis. It's so damn hard to accept that we have a disease that isn't fixable. I'm taking a boatload of drugs and I have the pain mostly under control (except when I don't ), but I can't seem to get any relief from the fatigue yet. I've asked all the doctors that I have seen point-blank if this ia all in my head. They all said " no " , so I decided to see a conselor for coping skills. We haven't done much since I signed up with a pain clinic for therapy that I won't be going to until the middle of June and she wants to work with them, too. So, hopefully, I will be doing the fibro coping stuff while I'm waiting for test results. I'm trying to cover all the bases. So, good luck, Joe. Do all you can to manage this disease....I've heard a lot of good stories about coping well with fibro...If others can do it, so can we. Take care. Welcome to our group. We are a wonderful group, friendly, and lots of experience regarding our awful disease. You did a wonderful job of describing the pain. I am glad your sons " get it " . That is wonderful. Looking forward to getting to know you more. Hugs, Annie No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG. While it is wonderful to share our experiences with everyone on the list as to what treatments do and don't work for us, pls always check with your dr. Some treatments are dangerous when given along with other meds as well as to certain health conditions or just dangerous in general. 2. If you are in a difficult situation (doesn't matter what it is) pls don't be afraid to ask for help. It is the first step to trying to make that situation better. 3. Also, it is not uncommon for more than one member to be feeling bad at the same time when it comes to flares and b/c of that potentially take something another member says the wrong way. And that includes the things that one member may find funny (even if it's laughing at fibro itself) even though we who deal with illness whether one such as fibro or multiple illnesses try to keep a sense of humor. 5. Pls let's be gentle with each other, and if you are having a bad day pls let us know so that we can do our best to offer our support. Have a nice day everyone.
