Guest guest
Hi Debra- yeah I am assuming that I have fibro, although I have not been able to find any Dr within 250 miles who is able/available to do an eval. Hence the working diagnosis of " Fibro's bratty little sister. " Fibro was first suggested to me as a possible cause of my pain, stiffness and difficulty lifting my feet to walk properly in August 2007, when I was living in Baltimore. My Psychiatrist in Baltimore assured the PCP there that the symptoms were not due to psych meds effects, nor to a case of lithium toxicity I had sufferred in May. I do have metabolic syndrome (aka SyndromeX), Hypothyroid, Menieres, and GERD so severe that it has damaged my vocal cords, I have Asthma and I am allergic to Iodine. Also I have bad teeth. (An odd assortment of maladys, but some combo of these I have seen over and over on this forum and I have not been here long) The Baltimore PCP did one more round of bloodwork, did a physical and said it realy looked like possible fibro to her. She knew I was planning to move to Maine in September and told me to follow up when I got a pcp there. Unfortunately none of this got into my official medical records. I did get one eval here, in Maine, by a Pain Specialist. I was told I was to have an evaluation for fibromyalgia. Dr weenie said it didn't matter if I have fibro or not, that he treats pain, Chronic pain, that I clearly have Chronic Pain and that he is diagnosing me with Chronic Pain Syndrome. My PCP, the one I had at the time, was rude to the point of being abusive and refused me a 2nd opinion referral. My new PCP is totaly cool. She refuses to discuss the Pain Specialist or the diagnosis of Chronic Pain Syndrome (she doesn't want to comment and she doesn't want me to get upset and drive up my blood pressure.) She is researching fibro and looking for any possible markers that may appear in bloodwork; also medical conditions that may be diagnosed before fibro or along with fibro. I would be so happy if someone told me that " Fibro's bratty lil sis " had a differant name and really wasn't fibro but something that could be " fixed. " But even if that wish came true I would stay here in support of all of us; I sure do have a lot of symptoms a lot of folks here got. Peace Cassandra > > Ok Cassandra... I get it. I understand. It is undiagnosed but you do know it is there. It is aggravating isn't it? > hugs, > Debra V. >
